NK Čakovec
Nogometni Klub Čakovec (), commonly referred to as NK Čakovec or simply Čakovec, was a Croatian football club based in Čakovec, in the northern part of the country. The club folded in 2011. The club's arguably biggest success came when they won promotion to the Croatian First League in 2000. However, they only spent two seasons in the top flight before being relegated back to the Croatian Second League in 2002. In 2007, they finished bottom of the Croatian Second League and were relegated to the Croatian Third League, going on to end up playing in the fourth tier of Croatian football following another relegation in 2008. The club was played their home matches at the Stadion SRC Mladost, Čakovec, which has been their home ground since 1987 and can hold approximately 8,000 people. Stadion SRC Mladost is a multi-purpose stadium in Čakovec, Croatia. The approximate capacity of the stadium is 8,000 places, including around 5,000 seats. The stadium is owned by the city of Čakovec and primarily used for football matches and various athletics events. The football clubs currently using the stadium as their home ground are NK Čakovec and NK Međimurje. Occasionally, it is also used to stage concerts and similar events. The stadium was built in the mid-1980s for the purposes of the 1987 Summer Universiade. It is located in the Mladost Centre for Sports and Recreation (''SRC Mladost''), in the northwestern suburban part of the city of Čakovec. NK Jadran Poreč
NK Jadran Poreč is a Croatian football club based in the city of Poreč. It was founded in 1948 by Croatian handball player Lujo Györy. History Jadran began play in the Croatian second division in 1992–93. Jadran won the 1996-97 3.HNL ''zapad'' (west) group. Jadran participated in the promotion playoffs for the 1.HNL in 1997–98 after winning the ''zapad'' (west) group, finishing second in their group and failing to advance. Drago Vabec
Dragutin Vabec, most commonly known as ''Drago Vabec'' (born 26 October 1950), is a Croatian former professional footballer who played for Dinamo Zagreb, Stade Brestois and Toronto Metros-Croatia. He is considered one of the best players in Dinamo Zagreb history and the best player in Stade Brestois history. He left Brest in 1983. At international level, he represented the SFR Yugoslavia national team. His family originates from Čakovec, Međimurje County, and he spent most of his time there. Playing career Vabec was born in Zagreb, SFR Yugoslavia. He made his debut for Yugoslavia in a September 1973 friendly match against Hungary and earned a total of seven caps, scoring one goal. His final international was an April 1976 European Championship qualification match against Wales. Varaždinski športski nogometni klub Varaždin (), commonly referred to as VŠNK Varaždin or simply Varaždin, was a Croatian football club based in the city of Varaždin in the north of the country. For the majority of its existence between 1958 and 2010, the club was known as NK Varteks, honouring the name of its principal sponsor, a local textile factory.
