NK Tabor Sežana
Nogometni klub Tabor Sežana, commonly referred to as Tabor Sežana or simply Tabor, is a Slovenian football club from Sežana which plays in the Slovenian Second League, the second tier of Slovenian football. The club was established in 1923. History In 1923, ''Mladinsko društvo Tabor-Sežana'' was founded, led and organized by the publicist and politician Ivan Regent. Four years later, in 1927, the Italian fascist authorities banned the club. Therefore, the club was inactive for the next 18 years, until it was revived in 1945 after World War II. Initially, Sežana competed in the Trieste League (Zone A), but moved to the Littoral League in the Yugoslav football pyramid after the Free Territory of Trieste was established in 1947. During the 1950s, the club was named Železničar and competed in the Ljubljana-Littoral League. 2016–17 Slovenian Third League
The 2016–17 Slovenian Third League began on 20 August 2016 and ended on 28 May 2017. Competition format and rules The 2016–17 Slovenian Third League was divided into four regional groups with a total of 52 participating clubs. Three groups (i.e. North, Centre, East) were composed of 14 clubs, while the West group had only 10 clubs participating in the competition. On 29 June 2016, the Football Association of Slovenia decided to expand the Slovenian Second League in the 2017–18 season from 10 teams to 16 teams, meaning that in the 2016–17 Slovenian Third League season the top two teams from each group got promoted to the Second League. Also, unlike previous seasons, reserve teams were now able to earn a promotion to the Second League. The number of relegated teams from each group was determined by the number of regional MNZ's from which the clubs in all four groups were part of. The Slovenian Regional Leagues () are the fourth tier leagues in the Slovenian football system. They are alternately operated by the participating clubs' Intercommunal Football Associations (). Football Club Koper, commonly referred to as FC Koper or simply Koper, is a Slovenian football club based in Koper that competes in the Slovenian First League, the top flight of Slovenian football. The Slovenian PrvaLiga (, ), currently named Prva liga Telemach due to sponsorship reasons, also known by the abbreviation 1. SNL, is the top level of the Slovenian football league system. Contested by ten clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Slovenian Second League (2. SNL). Seasons typically run from July to May with each team playing 36 matches. The competition was founded in 1991, after Slovenia became an independent country. From 1920 until the end of the 1990–91 season, the Slovenian Republic League was a lower division within the Yugoslav league system, although the top Slovenian clubs usually competed in the highest levels of the Yugoslav league system.
