NITTE (Deemed To Be University)
NITTE, officially NITTE (Deemed to be University), is an institute of higher education located in Derlakatte, Mangaluru, India. It is formed under the Trust of NITTE, a trust sponsored by Nitte Education Trust which has established 31 institutions spread in three campuses at Nitte, Mangaluru and Bengaluru. The University Grants Commission which is a Government of India entity conferred the status of Deemed-to-be University in June 2008. The institution has been accredited with 'A' grade by the NAAC. Academics The ABSM Institute of Dental Sciences (1985) was the first constituent college of Nitte University. Today, it has five constituent colleges, the other four being KS Hegde Medical Academy (1999), NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (1983), Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences (1992), and Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy (1997). National Institutional Ranking Framework
National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is a ranking methodology released annually by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to rank institutions of higher education in India. The framework was approved by the former Ministry of Human Resource Development (now the Ministry of Education) and launched by the Minister on 29 September 2015. Depending on their areas of operation, institutions have been ranked under 11 different categories – overall, university, colleges, engineering, management, pharmacy, law, medical, architecture, dental and research. The Framework uses several parameters for ranking purposes like resources, research, and stakeholder perception.
