NHL On HDNet
''NHL on HDNet'' is a TV show that televises National Hockey League games on HDNet (broadcasting exclusively in high-definition form). The NHL was the first professional sports league to sign up with HDNet, when it launched in 2001. History HDnet's coverage began in the 2001–02 season with a 65 game schedule. HDNet produced broadcasts in conjunction with several Fox Sports Net regional outlets, sharing audio and graphics with FSN's standard definition production units. ''NHL on HDNet'' prototypically, aired on Tuesday and Friday nights during its early years. While there was no coverage during the 2004–05 season due to the lockout, HDNet instead, produced a series called ''NHL Relived'', a special series featuring the best games from the 2003–04 season, including the NHL All-Star Game and Stanley Cup Playoff games. AXS TV is an American cable television channel. Majority-owned by Anthem Sports & Entertainment, it is devoted primarily to music-related programming (such as concert films, documentaries, and reality series involving musicians) and combat sports – including boxing, mixed martial arts and professional wrestling. The network was originally established in 2001 as HDNet, with investor Mark Cuban as a founding partner. HDNet was originally intended as an exclusively- high-definition network, carrying films and acquired television series, concerts, news programming, and sporting events produced in the format. HDNet's original niche became increasingly redundant as more cable networks established their own HD feeds. In 2012, HDNet sold ownership stakes to Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), Creative Artists Agency, and Ryan Seacrest, with Cuban retaining a majority stake. John Vanbiesbrouck
John Vanbiesbrouck (born September 4, 1963), nicknamed "the Beezer" and "JVB", is an American professional ice hockey executive and former player. As a goaltender, he was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2007. Vanbiesbrouck played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Rangers, Florida Panthers, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils. He began his career playing major junior hockey for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Following a successful season with the Greyhounds, he was drafted by the New York Rangers in the fourth round, 72nd overall, in the 1981 NHL Draft. After his junior career ended, he played for the Rangers minor league affiliate, the Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League. Judd Sirott
Judd Sirott (born January 1969) is an American sportscaster on WBZ-FM's coverage of the Boston Bruins where he replaced Dave Goucher as the radio voice of the Bruins starting with the 2017-18 season. He previously appeared on WGN-AM's broadcasts of the Chicago Blackhawks where he served as the pregame, intermission and post game host. During the November 12, 2022 Bruins vs. Buffalo Sabres game, Sirott coined the term "Den of Iniquity" in reference to the penalty box. He also has done work for the Chicago Cubs baseball, when his duties included play-by-play during the 5th inning, scoreboard updates for other MLB games throughout the broadcast, and hosting the pregame and postgame shows on WGN Radio. Larry Murphy (ice Hockey)
Lawrence Thomas Murphy (born March 8, 1961) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He played over 20 years in the National Hockey League, suiting up for the Los Angeles Kings, Washington Capitals, Minnesota North Stars, Pittsburgh Penguins, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Detroit Red Wings. He won two back-to-back Stanley Cup championships, the first of two being with Pittsburgh in 1991 and 1992; and then with Detroit in 1997 and 1998. Grant Scott Fuhr (born September 28, 1962) is a Canadian former ice hockey goaltender in the National Hockey League and former goaltending coach for the Arizona Coyotes, who is best remembered for a decade of stellar play for the Edmonton Oilers in the 1980s during which he won the Stanley Cup five times. He was a six-time All-Star, and in 2003, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. In 2017, Fuhr was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history. Jack Edwards (born 1957) is an American sportscaster and television play-by-play commentator for the Boston Bruins on NESN. He previously worked for ESPN from 1991 to 2003 as an anchor for their sports news program ''SportsCenter'' as well as a play-by-play commentator for their NHL, MLS, Little League Baseball, and 2002 FIFA World Cup broadcasts.
