NACAM Rally Championship
The NACAM Rally Championship is an international rally championship which is run under the auspicies FIA and held across North and Central America, northern South America and the Caribbean. The championship was established in 2008. History While the NACAM region encompasses 14 countries the core of the championship is in Mexico and Costa Rica. Both have held rallies in every NACAM championship with Rally Costa del Pacífico in Costa Rica the only rally to have been held in every NACAM championship. The 2013 championship has events is Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Colombia with Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago debuting in 2013. Rallies have previously been held in Guatemala, Barbados and Ecuador. Mexican driver Ricardo Triviño is the only multiple champion, having won the series ten times since 2008. Groups Rally
In international rallying, the Groups Rally are the collective name given to formulae of rally car as defined by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile for use in the World Rally Championship and the FIA's regional championships. The names were approved in June 2018 and began being used in 2019 in conjunction with promotion of the Rally Pyramid, a reorganisation of rallying nomenclature, car specifications and championships. As of 2020, the groups' names are officially defined as replacing Group R in the FIA's competitions. The numbering used in the names of the new groups align with the FIA sporting classification, Rally1 is in RC1, Rally2 in RC2, and so on. From 2022 the championships will also align to these numbers, WRC2 shall use Rally2 cars whereas ERC3 for example, will Rally3 cars. 2013 NACAM Rally Championship
The 2013 NACAM Rally Championship is the sixth season of the NACAM Rally Championship. This Championship is the FIA regional rally championship for the North America and Central America (NACAM) region. The season began April 20 in Oaxaca, Mexico, and is scheduled to end November 24 in Jamaica, after six events. Reigning champion Ricardo Triviño won his fourth NACAM championship, winning four of the six rallies, three of them outright. Trivino won by 21 points over Venezuelan driver Alejandro Lombardo. Costa Rican driver Andrés Molina won a season long battle with Mexican Carlos Izquierdo for third in the championship. Lombardo and Molina were the only drivers to take first place in NACAM points away from Triviño, having done so at the Peruvia Rally Cañete and the Costa Rican Rally Costa del Pacifico respectively. Citroën C3
The Citroën C3 is a supermini car ( B-segment) produced by Citroën since April 2002. It replaced the Citroën Saxo in the model line up, and is currently in its fourth generation. Initial models of the Citroën C3 were built using the same platform as the Peugeot 206. The Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo (former name prior to 2019 rule changes was R5 evo) is a rally car built by Škoda Motorsport. It is an upgraded generational update of the original Fabia R5, based on the facelifted Škoda Fabia production car. After four years of success in the R5 discipline with the original Fabia, Škoda announced the Fabia R5 evo at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019. The car was showcased as an improvement over the 2015 Fabia in nearly all areas, most notably the power and response of the engine. The 2018 NACAM Rally Championship was the eleventh season of the NACAM Rally Championship. This championship was the FIA regional rally championship for the North America and Central America (NACAM) region. The season began 8 March in Leon, Mexico, and ended 23 November in Colima, Mexico, after four events held in Canada and Mexico. Venezuela's Rally Isla de Margarita was dropped without replacement from the calendar leaving only the mid-year Canadian Rallye Baie-des-Chaleurs event held outside of Mexico. Defending champion, Citroën driver Ricardo Triviño won his ninth NACAM championship. Triviño won the first three rounds of the championship, wrapping the championship up after the mid-year trip to Canada. The 2017 NACAM Rally Championship was the tenth season of the NACAM Rally Championship. This championship was the FIA regional rally championship for the North America and Central America (NACAM) region. The season began 9 March in Leon, Mexico, and ended 25 November in Colima, Mexico, after five events held in Canada and Venezuela. The 2016 NACAM Rally Championship was the ninth season of the NACAM Rally Championship. This championship was the FIA regional rally championship for the North America and Central America (NACAM) region. The season began 8 April in Oaxaca, Mexico, and ended 22 October in Costa Rica, after five events. Rallies in Panama and Jamaica were dropped from the championship in favour of a second event in Costa Rica, the Rally La Ponderosa and for the first time, a rally in Canada, the Rallye Baie-des-Chaleurs in New Richmond, Quebec. Apart from this new event, the other four rallies were single day events. Defending champion Ricardo Triviño won his seventh NACAM championship. Triviño won the first four events of the series.
