Municipalities Of Vietnam
On the first tier, Vietnam is divided into 58 provinces ( vi, tỉnh, links=no) and 5 municipalities ( vi, thành phố trực thuộc trung ương). Municipalities are the highest-ranked cities in Vietnam. ISO 3166-2:VN Municipalities are centrally-controlled cities and have special status equal to the province. The municipalities are divided into urban districts (''quận''), municipal cities (''thành phố thuộc thành phố trực thuộc trung ương''), towns (''thị xã'') and rural districts (''huyện'') as the second-tier units. Cần Thơ
Cần Thơ, also written as Can Tho or Cantho (: , : ), is the fourth-largest city in Vietnam, and the largest city along the Mekong Delta region in Vietnam. It is noted for its floating markets, rice paper-making village, and picturesque rural canals. It has a population of around 1,282,300 as of 2018, and is located on the south bank of the Hậu River, a distributary of the Mekong River. Haiphong
Haiphong ( vi, Hải Phòng, ), or Hải Phòng, is a major industrial city and the third-largest in Vietnam. Hai Phong is also the center of technology, economy, culture, medicine, education, science and trade in the Red River delta. Haiphong was founded in 1887 as a major seaport city of Vietnam. South Central Coast
South Central Coast ( vi, Duyên hải Nam Trung Bộ, links=no) or (South Central Region) is one of the regions of Vietnam. It consists of the independent municipality of Đà Nẵng and seven other provinces. The two southern provinces Ninh Thuận and Bình Thuận are sometimes seen as part of the Southeast region. The Paracel Islands ( Hoàng Sa District), and Spratly Islands ( Trường Sa District), are also part of this region. The region has traditionally been one of the main gateways to neighbouring Central Highlands. Province
A province is almost always an administrative division within a country or state. The term derives from the ancient Roman ''provincia'', which was the major territorial and administrative unit of the Roman Empire's territorial possessions outside Italy.
