Máximo David Alonso Fontes (born 5 July 2002) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a forward for Uruguayan Primera División club Cerro. Club career A youth academy graduate of Peñarol, Alonso made his professional debut on 28 January 2021 in his club's 2–1 league defeat against Defensor Sporting. On 9 February 2024, he joined Spanish team Recreativo Granada on loan until the end of the season. International career Alonso is a current Uruguayan youth international. He was part of Uruguay's squad at 2017 South American U-15 Championship. Club Atlético Peñarol (), more commonly referred to as Peñarol, is a Uruguayan professional football club based in Montevideo. The club currently competes in the Uruguayan Primera División, the highest tier in Uruguayan football. The name of the club comes from the neighborhood on the outskirts of Montevideo, which itself takes its name from Pinerolo, a town in the metropolitan area of Turin, in the Italian region of Piedmont. 2022 U-20 Copa Libertadores
The 2022 U-20 Copa CONMEBOL Libertadores () was the 6th edition of the U-20 CONMEBOL Libertadores (also referred to as the ''U-20 Copa Libertadores''), South America's premier under-20 club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. It was held in Ecuador from 5 to 20 February 2022. The tournament was played behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, except for the final matchday (third place match and final) which had a capacity of 50% allowed in the Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado. Independiente del Valle were the defending champions having won the title in 2020. The CONMEBOL Under-20 Libertadores ( Portuguese and Spanish: CONMEBOL Libertadores Sub 20) is the international association football club competition for teams that play in CONMEBOL leagues. It was created by Manuel Burga Seoane and the Peruvian Football Federation. The competition started in the 2011 season in response to the increased interest in youth football. The 2022 Supercopa Uruguaya was the fifth edition of the Supercopa Uruguaya, Uruguay's football super cup. It was held on 30 January 2022 between the 2021 Primera División champions Peñarol and the 2021 Torneo Apertura champions Plaza Colonia. Originally the match was scheduled to be played at Estadio Silvestre Octavio Landoni in Durazno, however, the Durazno Intendancy declined to host it due to an increase of COVID-19 cases in the Durazno Department. The 2025 Liga Profesional de Primera División season, also known as the Liga AUF Uruguaya 2025, is the 122nd season of the Uruguayan Primera División, Uruguay's top-flight football league, and the 95th in which it is professional. The Segunda División Profesional is the second division of professional football in Uruguay, established in 1942. The league is sometimes referred to as ''Primera B''. In 1942, the Segunda División was established to replace the amateur Uruguayan Divisional Intermedia, Divisional Intermedia, establishing a professional league for lower divisions in Uruguay.
