Márton Gyulai
Márton Gyulai (born 12 December 1979, Vác, Hungary) is an international sports executive, with significant experience in bidding for, and organising world- and European championships, mainly in athletics. Gyulai graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2001 with a degree in International Government. He competed as an athletics sprinter while there. Following his graduation, Gyulai became a Hungarian bobsledder who competed internationally from 2001 to 2006. Competing in two Winter Olympics, he earned his best finish of 23rd in the four-man event at Salt Lake City in 2002, and is the only Hungarian to date to drive both the 2-man and the 4-man sled in the same games; the 2006 Winter Olympics. Upon retirement from the sport, Gyulai worked for Eurosport Hungary before taking on the role of the General Secretary of the Hungarian Athletics Association in 2008. Vác
Vác (; ; ; ) is a thousand-year old city in Pest county in Hungary with approximately 35,000 inhabitants. The archaic spelling of the name is ''Vácz''. Location Vác is located north of Budapest on the eastern bank of the Danube river, below the bend where the river changes course and flows south. The town is seated at the foot of the Naszály Mountain in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, Carpathians. Péter Deutsch (born 19 August 1968) is a retired Hungarian high jumper. He finished in joint eleventh place at the 1990 European Indoor Championships with a jump of 2.20 metres. He became Hungarian high jump champion in 1992, 1993 and 1995, and also became indoor champion in 1990 and 1996. Bobsleigh or bobsled is a winter sport in which teams of 2 to 4 athletes make timed speed runs down narrow, twisting, banked, iced tracks in a gravity-powered sleigh. International bobsleigh competitions are governed by the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (formerly the FIBT). The first bobsleds were built in the late 19th century in St. Moritz, Switzerland, by wealthy tourists from Victorian Britain who were staying at the Palace Hotel owned by Caspar Badrutt. The early sleds were adapted from boys' delivery sleds and toboggans. These eventually evolved into bobsleighs, luges and skeletons. 2023 World Athletics Championships
The 2023 World Athletics Championships (), the nineteenth edition of the World Athletics Championships, were held from 19 to 27 August 2023 at the National Athletics Centre (Budapest), National Athletics Centre, in Budapest, Hungary. The tournament returned to its usual two-year cycle after the previous event in Eugene, Oregon, United States was postponed to 2022, held a little 13 months earlier due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These are the first World Athletics Championships in Hungary. The city of Budapest had previously stated an interest in hosting the 2007 World Championships in Athletics, 2007 World Championships, but withdrew and it was eventually held in Osaka. The official mascot of the event is a Racka, called Youhuu. Svein Arne Hansen (6 May 1946 – 20 June 2020) was a Norwegian sports official. At the time of his death, he was President of the European Athletic Association. He was from Bygdøy and worked as a stamp trader outside of sports. He was formerly the meet director of Bislett Games, and advanced from vice president to president of the Norwegian Athletics Association The Norwegian Athletics Association (, NFIF) is the national governing body for the sport of athletics in Norway, including track and field, road running, cross country running and racewalking.
