Mystery (band)
Mystery (often stylized as MYSTERY) is a Canadian rock band formed in 1986 by multi-instrumentalist Michel St-Père. The band released their eponymous debut EP in 1992 with Raymond and Gary Savoie on lead vocals, followed by their first album '' Theatre of the Mind'' in 1996 and then ''Destiny?'' in 1998, both with Gary on lead vocals. In 2007 the band released their third album ''Beneath the Veil of Winter's Face'' with singer Benoît David who would record two more studio albums with the band: ''One Among the Living'' in 2010 and ''The World is a Game'' in 2012. In 2015 the band released their sixth album and first with current singer Jean Pageau ''Delusion Rain'', and released their seventh album ''Lies and Butterflies'' on July 14, 2018 . ''Mystery!'' (also written ''MYSTERY!'') is a television anthology series produced by WGBH Boston for PBS in the United States. The series was created as a mystery, police and crime drama spin-off of the already established PBS show ''Masterpiece Theatre''. From 1980 to 2006, ''Mystery!'' aired mostly British crime series purchased from or co-produced with the BBC or ITV and adapted from British mystery fiction. In 2002, due to pressure to include more American material, a series based on the novels of US mystery writer Tony Hillerman was produced, but the vast majority of ''Mystery!'' programming has always been and continues to be British literary adaptations co-produced with UK-based production companies. ''Mystery, Alaska'' is a 1999 American sports comedy-drama film, directed by Jay Roach, about an amateur ice hockey team from the fictional small town of Mystery that plays an exhibition game against the National Hockey League (NHL)'s New York Rangers. It was shot in Canmore, Alberta, mostly in what is today known as Quarry Lake Park. Plot Sheriff John Biebe is one of the townsfolk in Mystery, Alaska who play in "the Saturday Game" — a weekly hockey game played on an open pond. Mystery (television)
Mystery is a fiction genre where the nature of an event, usually a murder or other crime, remains mysterious until the end of the story. Often within a closed circle of suspects, each suspect is usually provided with a credible motive and a reasonable opportunity for committing the crime. The central character is often a detective (such as Sherlock Holmes), who eventually solves the mystery by logical deduction from facts presented to the reader. Some mystery books are non-fiction. Mystery fiction can be detective stories in which the emphasis is on the puzzle or suspense element and its logical solution such as a whodunit. ''Mystery'' is the eponymous debut EP by the Canadian rock band Mystery, released in 1992. Their shortest recording so far, it contains only 5 tracks. This album is also Mystery's only record that was not released by Unicorn Digital at the time of its original release, and the original 500 print run was out of print for several years until it was remixed and re-released in August 2022.
