Shehili
''Shehili'' is the fifth studio album by Tunisian progressive metal band Myrath, released on 3 March 2019. The group began to work on it in early 2017 and originally planned to release it later that year. Myrath was already thinking of the album as they prepared its predecessor, ''Legacy (Myrath album), Legacy''. According to them, songs from both efforts are connected, as are each of their main singles ("Believer" and "Dance", respectively). Background, songwriting and production After they finished touring for ''Legacy'' in 2017, members started to record ideas on their phones and later gathered for two weeks in a hotel room in Paris to discuss their compositions. After two weeks, producer Kevin Codfert finished orchestrations, arrangements and mixing and the final result was presented to Myrath's boss at earMUSIC, who praised everything but the drums. The latter were re-recorded in a studio in Hamburg with Eike Freese as a producer. In an interview for Japanese news portal Ba ...

Legacy (Myrath Album)
''Legacy'' is the fourth studio album by Tunisian progressive metal band Myrath, released on 19 February 2016. The name of the album is also the name of the band when translated to English. As the band prepared it, they were already thinking of its successor ''Shehili''. According to them, songs from both efforts are connected. It was originally planned for a 12 February release. The song "Believer" was described as "an anthem for those who doubt, who are scared, who want to give up, who suffer." Following a crowdfunding campaign, the band spent € 45,000 to hire two ''Game of Thrones'' producers for the track's video. They initially wanted to create something that strayed from what they called Tunisian "clichés", but after receiving no replies from the local government with regards to authorization to shoot images in certain locations, they changed their concept. Reception ''Metal Hammer''s Dave Ling praised the blend of metal and oriental traditional elements, saying the ad ...

Oriental Metal
Folk metal is a fusion genre of heavy metal music and traditional folk music that developed in Europe during the 1990s. It is characterised by the widespread use of folk instruments and, to a lesser extent, traditional singing styles (for example, Dutch Heidevolk, Danish Sylvatica and Spanish Stone of Erech). It also sometimes features soft instrumentation influenced by folk rock. The earliest folk metal bands were Skyclad from England and Cruachan from Ireland. Skyclad's debut album '' The Wayward Sons of Mother Earth'' was released in 1991 and would be considered a thrash metal album with some folk influences, unlike Cruachan’s early work which embraced the folk element as a defining part of their sound. It was not until 1994 and 1995 that other early contributors in the genre began to emerge from different regions of Europe and beyond. Among these early groups, the German band Subway to Sally spearheaded a different regional variation that over time became known as medie ...

The Source (Ayreon Album)
''The Source'' is the ninth studio album from Ayreon, a progressive metal/rock opera project by Dutch musician Arjen Anthony Lucassen, released on 28 April 2017. It is Lucassen's first album under his new label, Mascot Label Group. As with every Ayreon album, it is a concept album with each character being portrayed by one singer. Unlike the previous album '' The Theory of Everything'', it marks a return to science fiction and the Ayreon storyline; it acts, in particular, as a prequel to ''01011001'', making it the first album in the storyline's chronology. In ''The Source'', the Alphans, ancestors of humanity, try to prevent the extinction of their race from machines who took control of the entire planet Alpha, by sending a select few Alphans into space so they can attempt to start anew on a distant world. In the typical style of the project, the album features several guest singers to portray the characters across the album; although Lucassen usually prefers to work only once wi ...

Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a Music genre, genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock and acid rock, heavy metal bands developed a thick, monumental sound characterized by distortion (music), distorted guitars, extended guitar solos, emphatic Beat (music), beats and loudness. In 1968, three of the genre's most famous pioneers – British bands Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple – were founded. Though they came to attract wide audiences, they were often derided by critics. Several American bands modified heavy metal into more accessible forms during the 1970s: the raw, sleazy sound and shock rock of Alice Cooper and Kiss (band), Kiss; the blues-rooted rock of Aerosmith; and the flashy guitar leads and party rock of Van Halen. During the mid-1970s, Judas Priest helped spur the genre's evolution by discarding much of its blues influence,Walser (1 ...
