Mypolonga
Mypolonga is a rural town in South Australia, situated on the western side of the lower Murray River, between Mannum and Murray Bridge, South Australia, Murray Bridge. It has a local post office/general store, a local primary school and an Australian Rules Football team that participates in the River Murray Football League. Mypolonga's name derives from an Aboriginal Australians, Aboriginal expression meaning "cliff lookout place". The town is surrounded by limestone cliffs along the Murray River and has much agricultural land. It has been named as a finalist in the 2021 South Australian Ag Town of the Year award. Key agriculture products include cow's milk, Jonesy's buffalo milk, stone fruit (apricots, peach, nectarine, plums etc.), citrus, wine grapes and olives. River Murray Football League
The River Murray Football League is an Australian rules football competition based in the Murray Bridge, South Australia, Murray Bridge region of South Australia, Australia. It is an affiliated member of the South Australian National Football League. History The competition was founded in 1931 with the foundation clubs Imperials, Ramblers and Mypolonga. Traditionally the 2 Murray Bridge clubs, Imperials and Ramblers, have had a fierce rivalry, and both have had their fair share of success over the years. Tailem Bend and Jervois, who are both based in smaller townships, are proud clubs with fine traditions and premiership success to go with it. Mannum and Mypolonga both broke premiership droughts in recent decades, however both clubs have struggled in the last 15 years to convert multiple grand final appearances into premierships. Murray Bridge (formerly Mobilong and Edwards Crossing; ) is a city in the Australian state of South Australia, located east-southeast of the state's capital city, Adelaide, and north of the town of Meningie. The city is called ''Pomberuk'' by the traditional owners of the land, the Ngarrindjeri people. Burdett is a locality in South Australia located on the eastern side (left bank) of the Murray River about to the east of the city of Murray Bridge and about east south-east of the Adelaide city centre. Its name is derived from the Hundred of Burdett. While the name has been "long established," Burdett's current boundaries were established in 2000. The land within Burdett is used for agricultural purposes with the exception of the Australian Army field training area, the Murray Bridge Training Area, which occupies about of land at the locality's southern boundary. The Karoonda Highway passes through the locality on its way to Loxton. Electoral District Of Hammond
Hammond is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It is named after Ruby Hammond, the first indigenous woman to stand for the Federal Parliament. Hammond is a rural electorate east and south-east of Adelaide, covering in the east and upper south-east of the state, and takes in the towns of Callington, Cambrai, Coomandook, Karoonda, Langhorne Creek, Mannum, Nildottie, Peake, Pinnaroo, Purnong and Tailem Bend. Hammond was created in the 1994 redistribution as a replacement for the electoral district of Ridley, and was first contested at the 1997 election.
