Mykhailo Zabrodskyi
Mykhailo Vitaliyovych Zabrodskyi (; born 24 January 1973) is a Ukrainian politician and retired military officer. A member of the European Solidarity party, he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's national parliament) in 2019, but renounced his mandate in March 2023. Zabrodskyi is a former commander of the Ukrainian Airmobile Forces, a lieutenant general, and a Hero of Ukraine. He commanded the 95th Airmobile Brigade during the War in Donbass, during which it conducted a 470-kilometer operation 170 kilometers into Russian and separatist-held territory. Dnipro is Ukraine's fourth-largest city, with about one million inhabitants. Hero Of Ukraine
A Hero of Ukraine (HOU; ) is the highest national decoration that can be conferred upon an individual citizen by the president of Ukraine. The decoration was created in 1998 by President Leonid Kuchma. As of 6 June 2025, the total number of recipients had been 1109. Additionally, at least 29 decrees assigned have not been published. The decoration is granted to two classes of recipients: to civilians, the Order of the State () ; and to military recipients, the Order of the Gold Star (). 95th Air Assault Brigade (Ukraine)
The 95th Separate Polesian Air Assault Brigade is a unit of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces. The brigade is located in Zhytomyr. It is considered one of the most prestigious and capable units in the Ukrainian military. The brigade is one of Ukraine's Partnership for Peace units. Raid Of The 95th Brigade
From July 19 to August 10, 2014, during the war in Donbas, units of the 95th Air Assault Brigade, reinforced with assets from the 25th Airborne and 30th and 51st Mechanized Brigades, conducted a raid, during which they advanced from Kramatorsk, fighting Russian and separatist forces in Artemivsk, Debaltseve, Savur-Mohyla, Krasnyi Luch and Luhansk, returning back to Kramatorsk. The war in Donbas, or the Donbas war, was a phase of the Russo-Ukrainian War in the eastern Donbas region of Ukraine. The war began in April 2014, when Russian paramilitaries seized several towns. Ukraine's military launched an operation against them, but failed to fully retake the territory. Lieutenant general (Lt Gen, LTG and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. The rank traces its origins to the Middle Ages, where the title of lieutenant general was held by the second-in-command on the battlefield, who was normally subordinate to a captain general. 2019 Ukrainian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Ukraine on 21 July 2019. Originally scheduled to be held at the end of October, the elections were brought forward after newly inaugurated President of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dissolved parliament on 21 May 2019, during his inauguration. The elections resulted in an outright majority, a novelty in Ukraine, for Zelenskyy's Servant of the People party, which won 254 seats. About 80 percent of the elected candidates were new to parliament, while 83 deputies were re-elected from 8th Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, the previous parliament and 13 deputies from earlier convocations. European Solidarity
European Solidarity (, ; , YeS) is a political party in Ukraine. It has its roots in a parliamentary group called Solidarity dating from 2000 and has existed since in various forms as a political outlet for Petro Poroshenko. The party with its then name Petro Poroshenko Bloc won 132 of the 423 contested seats in the 2014 Ukrainian parliamentary election, more than any other party. In August 2015, the Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform (UDAR) merged into the party. In May 2019, the UDAR undid this merge.
