Myaungmya ( ) is the principal town of Myaungmya Township, Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar. The town is home to the Myanmar Union Adventist Seminary, a Seventh-day Adventist seminary and Myaungmya Education College. As of 2014 the population was 58,698. History Myaungmya was referenced earliest in the ''Jambūdipa'', a text dating to the reign of Kyansittha. The name "Myaungmya" originates from the Mon language name Mongmale (မံၚ်မၠ, lit. Myaungmya Township
Myaungmya Township ( ) is a township of Myaungmya District in the Ayeyarwady Region of Myanmar. The principal town is Myaungmya. It has an area of . Myaungmya has high Karen population. Among the population were about 40,739 Christians, mostly Karens. The district is a deltaic tract, bordering south on the sea and traversed by many tidal creeks. Daw Khin Kyi, the wife of national leader General Aung San was born in Myaungmya. The Township is the site of the Myaungmya Incident, the first large-scale armed ethnic clashes between Karens and Burmans in 1942. Rice cultivation and fishing occupy practically all the inhabitants of the district. Razadarit
Razadarit (, ; , or ; also spelled Yazadarit, "king of kings"; 1368–1421) was king of Kingdom of Hanthawaddy, Hanthawaddy Pegu from 1384 to 1421. He successfully unified his Mon language, Mon-speaking kingdom, and fended off major assaults by the Burmese language, Burmese-speaking Kingdom of Ava, Ava Kingdom (Inwa) in the Forty Years' War. The king also instituted an administrative system that left his successors with a far more integrated kingdom. He is one of the most famous List of Burmese monarchs, kings in Burmese history. Razadarit came to power at 16 after a rebellion against his father King Binnya U (r. 1348–1384), barely controlling the Pegu province. Laukpya
Laukpya ( or , ) was the ruler of the Bassein province of the Martaban–Hanthawaddy Kingdom from 1364 to 1390. He came to power by helping his brother Byattaba stage a coup against King Binnya U. He was also a key figure who started the Ava–Hanthawaddy War (1385–1391) between the Mon-speaking Hanthawaddy Pegu and the Burmese-speaking Ava. Brief Laukpya was appointed governor of Myaungmya, a key port in the Irrawaddy delta by King Binnya U. In 1364, Laukpya's eldest brother Byattaba, then a senior official, seized the Martaban province south of Donwun while Laukpya seized the entire Bassein province. In 1371/72, the rebel brothers and the king signed a treaty that allowed the brothers to be his nominal vassals. Myaungmya District
Myaungmya District () is a district of the Ayeyarwady Division in south western Myanmar. It consists of 5 cities. Myaungmya is the chief town of the district. 
Myaungmya district was formed in 1893 out of a portion of Bassein district, and reconstituted until 1903. It has an area of and a population of 280,000 and density of 104 inhabitants to the square mile. The district is a deltaic tract, bordering south on the sea and traversed by many tidal creeks. Rice cultivation and fishing occupy practically all the inhabitants of the district.
The district contains three townships: Myaungmya Township, Einme Township, and Wakema Township. In the Townships, there are 50 wards, 489 village groups and 2557 villages.

Forty Years' War
The Forty Years' War (; 1385 – 1423; also Ava–Pegu War or the Mon–Burmese War) was a military war fought between the Burmese-speaking Kingdom of Ava and the Mon-speaking Kingdom of Hanthawaddy. The war was fought during two separate periods: 1385 to 1391, and 1401 to 1424, interrupted by two truces of 1391–1401 and 1403–1408. It was fought primarily in today's Lower Burma and also in Upper Burma, Shan State, and Rakhine State. It ended in a stalemate, preserving the independence of Hanthawaddy, and effectively ending Ava's efforts to rebuild the erstwhile Pagan Kingdom. Ayeyarwady Region ( , , ; formerly Ayeyarwady Division and Irrawaddy Division) is a region of Myanmar, occupying the delta region of the Ayeyarwady River (Irrawaddy River). Khin Kyi
Maha Thiri Thudhamma Khin Kyi (; 16 April 1912 – 27 December 1988) was a Burmese politician and diplomat, best known for her marriage to the country's leader, Aung San, with whom she had four children, including Aung San Suu Kyi. She served as the Minister of Social Welfare and MP of the Pyithu Hluttaw for Lanmadaw Township. Early life and career Khin Kyi was born on 16 April 1912 in Myaungmya during the British Raj to parents Pho Hnyin and Phwa Su. Although it is rumored that Khin Kyi herself was an ethnic Karen people, Karen Christian, she was in fact a Burmese Buddhism, Buddhist of Bamar ancestry.
