My Generation (game Show)
''My Generation'' is a game show on VH1 that was hosted by comedian Craig Shoemaker and announced by Lindsay Stoddart. Its 48 episodes aired for a brief period in 1998, and due to its similar format and emphasis on music, is considered to be a semi-revival of the 1969 ABC series ''The Generation Gap''. Format Two pairs of players from different graduation years – 1960 to 1995, typically 10–20 years apart – competed in a game of musical knowledge for a chance to win a trip. The Singles Round Five categories were displayed, each with a question set for both teams' generations, and the winners of a coin toss chose the first set. Questions frequently had a brief skit or performance associated with them, similar to the MTV game show ''Remote Control''. Craig Shoemaker
Craig Shoemaker (born November 15, 1964) is an American stand up comedian, actor, author, writer and producer. He was named Comedian of the Year at The American Comedy Awards on ABC and garnered two NATAS Emmy awards. He is best known for his 90-minute stand-up special, ''Daditude''. Life and career Craig grew up in the Philadelphia area and graduated from Springfield Township High School. ">/sup> He attended Temple University, financing his college years by working as a bartender and MC for comedy shows. He also attended California University of Pennsylvania. Shoemaker received a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Radio, television and film. "Shoe's" stage, film and TV acting credits are extensive and wide ranging. The Generation Gap
''The Generation Gap'' is a primetime American game show that aired from February 7 to May 23, 1969, on ABC. It was originally hosted by Dennis Wholey, who was replaced by Jack Barry after ten episodes had aired. Fred Foy announced during the entire run. Two teams of three players competed – one composed of people under the age of thirty, the other being people over thirty. At least one member of each team was a well-known celebrity, occasionally playing against a relative on the other team. Gameplay Each team had to answer questions about the other's generation; for example, the under-30s might have to answer a question about the big bands, while the over-30s might have to answer a question about rock groups. Remote Control (game Show)
''Remote Control'' is a TV game show that ran on MTV for four seasons from 1987 until 1990. It was MTV's first original non-musical program and first game show. A concurrent syndicated version of the series ran during the 1989-90 season and was distributed by Viacom. Three contestants answered trivia questions on movies, music, and television, many of which were presented in skit format. The series was created and developed by producers Joe Davola and Michael Dugan. C+C Music Factory was an American musical group formed in 1989 by David Cole and Robert Clivillés. The group is best known for their five hit singles: " Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)", "Here We Go (Let's Rock & Roll)", " Things That Make You Go Hmmm...", "Just a Touch of Love", and "Keep It Comin'". The band stopped recording in 1996, following Cole's death. In 2010, C+C Music Factory reformed with Eric Kupper replacing Cole. Roxy Music
Roxy Music are an English rock band formed in 1970 by Bryan Ferry—who became the band's lead vocalist and principal songwriter—and bassist Graham Simpson. The other longtime members are Phil Manzanera (guitar), Andy Mackay (saxophone and oboe), and Paul Thompson (drums and percussion). Other members included Brian Eno (synthesizer and "treatments") and Eddie Jobson (synthesizer and violin). VH1 (originally an initialism of Video Hits One) is an American basic cable television network based in New York City and owned by Paramount Global.
