[, ] Mwiri (Kinyarwanda ''Umurenge wa Mwiri'') is one of the 12 Sectors of Rwanda, sectors in Kayonza District in the Eastern Province, Rwanda Geography Mwiri covers an area of 514.8 km2 and lies at an altitude of about 1,570 m. The sector is divided into four cells: Kageyo (Mwiri), Kageyo, Migera, Nyamugari and Nyawera. It borders Murundi to the north, Ndego to the southeast, Kabare to the south, Rwinkwavu and Nyamirama to the south-east, Mukarange to the west and Gahini to the northwest. In the east, the sector borders the Kagera River, Kagera Nile, which roughly forms the border with Tanzania. The eastern half of Mwiri is part of the Akagera National Park. Lake Ihema, Ihema Lake is located in this area. Other smaller lakes in the sector include, from north to south, Lake Murambya, Murambya, Murambi, Lake Birengero, Birengero and Lake Shakani, Shakani Lakes. Mukarange
Mukarange (Kinyarwanda Umurenge wa Mukarange) is a town and sector in Kayonza District in Rwanda's Eastern Province. It is the capital of the district. Geography Mukarange covers an area of 53.8 km2 and lies at an altitude of about 1,580 meters. The sector is divided into five cells: Bwiza, Kayonza, Mburabuturo, Nyagatovu and Rugendabari.
