Teresa Brewer (born Theresa Veronica Breuer; May 7, 1931 – October 17, 2007) was an American singer whose style incorporated pop, country, jazz, R&B, musicals, and novelty songs. She was one of the most prolific and popular female singers of the 1950s, recording around 600 songs. Early life Brewer was born in Toledo, Ohio, the eldest of five siblings. Her father Ludwig Breuer, a German immigrant, was a glass inspector for the Libbey Owens Company (now part of Pilkington Glass), and her mother Helen (nee Kasap) Breuer, a housewife, was of Polish ancestry. The family were practicing Catholics, and she was a member of the Roman Catholic Church most of her life. Career Her singing career began almost as soon as she was able to walk and talk. Virginia Gibson (born Virginia Gorski; April 9, 1925 – April 25, 2013) was an American dancer, singer and actress of film, television and musical theater. Early years Gibson was born on April 9, 1925, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was of Polish and Irish lineage and graduated from St. Alphonsus Parochial School. Career Gibson started her career in musicals in her hometown of St. Louis. In 1937, she was one of 35 girls chosen for the St. Louis Opera Company's ballet productions. She danced in the chorus of a production of ''The Student Prince'' there in 1940, and in 1943 she was part of the dancing chorus of the summer season of the Muny Opera. The album reached No. 84 on the ''Billboard'' Top LPs chart in 1964 and #47 on the Cashbox Top 100 Albums. Billboard Magazine awarded the album 'Special Merit' in their review column, stating that the record was "a wild and woolly combination. Ann-Margret and Al Hirt dish out a togetherness-type swingers. Alois Maxwell "Al" Hirt (November 7, 1922 – April 27, 1999) was an American trumpeter and bandleader. He is best remembered for his million-selling recordings of "Java (instrumental), Java" and the accompanying album ''Honey in the Horn (album), Honey in the Horn'' (1963), and for the theme music to ''The Green Hornet (TV series), The Green Hornet''. His nicknames included "Jumbo" and "The Round Mound of Sound". He was a Nashville sound (country/popular music) innovator of the late 1950s, and scored 147 songs on the ''Billboard'' country music charts, second only to George Jones.
