Mustapha Kamel Selmi
Mustapha Kamel Selmi (born 3 July 1965) is a retired Algerian sprinter who specialized in the 100 and 200 metres. He was born in El-Oued, and represented the club MPA. At the 1987 World Championships he reached the quarter-final of both the 100 metres and the 200 metres. At the 1988 Olympic Games he reached the quarter-final of the 200 metres, but not the 100 metres. The 100 metres, or 100-meter dash, is a sprint race in track and field competitions. The shortest common outdoor running distance, the dash is one of the most popular and prestigious events in the sport of athletics. It has been contested at the Summer Olympics since 1896 for men and since 1928 for women. The inaugural World Championships were in 1983. The reigning 100 m Olympic or world champion is often named "the fastest man or woman in the world".
