Mustafa Sarıgül
Mustafa Sarıgül (born 15 November 1956) is a Turkish writer, entrepreneur and politician who is currently a member of the Grand National Assembly from Erzincan. He was the mayor of the Şişli district in Istanbul between 1999 and 2014 as a member of the Republican People's Party (CHP). He is recently embroiled in a legal battle with the current mayor of Şişli who accused Sarıgül for threatening the life of his family. He was the leader of Party for Change in Turkey from 2020 to 2023, when the party was absorbed into the CHP. Biography Mustafa Sarıgül was born in Erzincan, where he grew up and went to school. Erzincan (electoral District)
Erzincan is an electoral district of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. It elects two members of parliament (deputies) to represent the province of the same name for a four-year term by the D'Hondt method, a party-list proportional representation system. Erzincan
Erzincan (; ), historically Yerznka (), is the capital of Erzincan Province in eastern Turkey. Nearby cities include Erzurum, Sivas, Tunceli, Bingöl, Elazığ, Malatya, Gümüşhane, Bayburt, and Giresun. The city is majority Turkish Sunni with a Kurdish Alevi minority. The city had a population of 150,714 in 2022, an increase from 86,779 in 2007. Social Democratic People's Party (Turkey)
The Social Democratic People's Party () or SHP was a Turkish liberal socialist and a social-democratic political party established in 2002 by Murat Karayalçın, former Ankara Metropolitan Mayor (1989-1993) and Foreign Minister (1994-1995). Following Karayalçın's resignation from the Republican People's Party, a number of social democrats, secular leftists, and liberal socialists came together to establish SDHP. 2019 Turkish Local Elections
The Turkish local elections of 2019 were held on Sunday 31 March 2019 throughout the 81 provinces of Turkey. A total of 30 metropolitan and 1,351 district municipal mayors, alongside 1,251 provincial and 20,500 municipal councillors were elected, in addition to numerous local non-partisan positions such as neighbourhood representatives ( muhtars) and elderly people's councils. Deniz Baykal (20 July 1938 – 11 February 2023) was a Turkish politician. A member of the Republican People's Party (CHP) who served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1995 to 1996. Having served in numerous government positions, Baykal led the CHP from 1992 to February 1995, from September 1995 to 1999 and again from 2000 to 2010.
