Mustafa Nadhim
Mustafa Nadhim Jari Al-Shabbani ( ar, مصطفى ناظم جاري, born 23 September 1993 in Al-Diwaniyah, Iraq) is an Iraqi footballer who plays as a defender for Al-Zawraa, and the Iraq national team. The defender played University football in Diwaniya, aged 16 when in Iraq most people would begin university at 18. In that same year, 2010, Mustafa helped guide his University to the Southern Universities Championship title for the first time with a comfortable 2–0 victory over Kufa University with one of the goals scored by future Olympic player Safa Jabar. Club career Al Najaf Mustafa started his career at Al Najaf where he spent three seasons with club, scoring nine goals. Al Quwa Al Jawiya Mustafa signed for Al Quwa Al Jawiya for the 2013/14 season in which the team finished 4th. He left the team at the end of the season, signing for Erbil. The Iraq national under-23 football team (also known as Iraq Olympic football team) represents Iraq in international under-23 football, Olympic Games and at the Asian Games, The team is controlled by the governing body for football in Iraq, Iraq Football Association (IFA). Iraq reached fourth place in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and were champions in the 2013 AFC U-22 Championship. Diwaniya
The dewaniya or diwaniya was the reception area where a Middle Eastern man received his business colleagues and male guests. Today the term refers both to a reception hall and the gathering held in it, and visiting or hosting a dewaniya is an important feature in the culture of Eastern Arabia. The word is first attested in Sumerian as ''dub,'' found in clay tablet. It is comparable to the Diwan-khane of Persian households, and derives from the word divan, meaning a formal council room in Persian and other regional languages. Dewaniya became a fundamental part of Kuwaiti life. Hence, it has become a mark in their traditional daily life. 25th Arabian Gulf Cup
The 25th Arabian Gulf Cup, known as Khaleeji Zain 25 for sponsorship reasons, was the 25th edition of the biennial football competition for the eight members of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation. The tournament was hosted in Iraq for the first time since 1979, in the host city of Basra. Hosts Iraq won their fourth title by beating Oman 3–2 after extra time in the final. Teams Draw The draw was held on 25 October 2022 at at the Grand Millennium Al Seef in Basra. Basra ( ar, ٱلْبَصْرَة, al-Baṣrah) is an Iraqi city located on the Shatt al-Arab. It had an estimated population of 1.4 million in 2018. Basra is also Iraq's main port, although it does not have deep water access, which is handled at the port of Umm Qasr. Basra International Stadium ( ar, مدينة البصرة الرياضية) is a sports complex in Basra, southern Iraq. Overview Its construction started on 1 January 2009 and was completed on 12 October 2013. The sports city was funded by the government of Iraq with a budget of $550 million. It contains a main stadium with a capacity of 65,000 people, a secondary stadium with a capacity of 10,000, four Five Star hotels and other sports-related facilities.
