Musicland Studios
Musicland Studios was a recording studio located in Munich, Germany established by Italy, Italian record producer, songwriter and musician Giorgio Moroder in the early 1970s. The studios were known for their work with artists such as Donna Summer, Electric Light Orchestra, and Queen (band), Queen, among others. History Moroder founded the studio modestly in a small space in the basement of the Arabella High-Rise Building. The studio featured a Multitrack recording, 16-track recorder and a Helios (mixing console), Helios mixing console. Moroder hired engineer Reinhold Mack, who eventually complained that the small studio was uncomfortably hot at all times because it was adjacent to the building's central heating system, encouraging Moroder to expand the studios. Son Of My Father
"Son of My Father" is a song popularised in 1972 by Chicory Tip. The song was originally published in German as "Nachts scheint die Sonne" (''In the Night Shines the Sun''), written by Giorgio Moroder with German lyrics by Michael Holm in 1971, and English lyrics by Pete Bellotte. The German version "Nachts scheint die Sonne" recorded by Michael Holm was released in 1971, while Giorgio Moroder also released the English version "Son of My Father" under the moniker Giorgio. However, Giorgio's version failed to chart in the UK. The song was released by Chicory Tip in 1972 and this version reached No. 1 on the UK single chart in February 1972. Face The Music (Electric Light Orchestra Album)
''Face the Music'' is the fifth studio album by Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). It was released in September 1975 by United Artists Records and on 14 November 1975 in the United Kingdom by Jet Records. The album moves away from the large-scale classical orchestrated sound of the previous album, '' Eldorado'', in favour of more "radio-friendly" pop/rock songs, though the string sections are still very prominent. The new sound proved successful for the group, for ''Face the Music'' was the first ELO album to go platinum. Overview By January 1975, bass player Mike de Albuquerque and cellist Mike Edwards had left the band during the '' Eldorado'' recording sessions and subsequent tour, respectively.
