Music Traveler
Music Traveler is a peer-to-peer sharing economy platform specialised in the centralisation of venues and spaces for members of the creative sector. This is achieved through the rental of music studios, practice rooms and recital spaces. However, other services are also provided including the rental of concert halls, live music venues, rooms for music lessons, festival locations, outdoor music venues, theatres, and the company is involved in collaborations with the educational sector. The company was founded in Vienna, Austria in 2017 by Aleksey Igudesman and Julia Rhee. The Music Traveler mobile application has been available for use since 2018. Co-founders Igudesman and Rhee are both recognised musicians. The service is intended for use by professional musicians on concert tours and amateur musicians who want to practice and has gained the backing of prominent supporters such as John Malkovich, Billy Joel and Hans Zimmer. Peer-to-peer Sharing
Peer-to-peer file sharing is the distribution and sharing of digital media using peer-to-peer (P2P) networking technology. P2P file sharing allows users to access media files such as books, music, movies, and games using a P2P software program that searches for other connected computers on a P2P network to locate the desired content. The nodes (peers) of such networks are end-user computers and distribution servers (not required). The early days of file-sharing were done predominantly by client-server transfers from web pages, FTP and IRC before Napster popularised a Windows application that allowed users to both upload and download with a freemium style service. Record companies and artists called for its shutdown and FBI raids followed. Aleksey Igudesman
Aleksey Mikhailovich Igudesman (; born 22 February 1973) is a Russian-German violinist and composer. He performs in the comedy-musical duo Igudesman & Joo. Biography Igudesman was born in Leningrad, in what was then the Soviet Union, to a musical Jewish family. At the age of 6 he and his family immigrated to Germany. At the age of 12 he was accepted at the Yehudi Menuhin School in England. From 1989 to 1998 he studied violin with Boris Kuschnir at the Vienna Conservatory. Igudesman has several books published by Universal Edition, including ''Style Workout'', ''The Catscratchbook'' and ''Pigs Can Fly'', as well as violin duet books ''Klezmer & More'', ''Celtic & More'', ''Latin & More'' and ''Asia & More''. Emanuel "Manny" Ax (born June 8, 1949) is a Grammy Award-winning American classical pianist. He is known for his chamber music collaborations with cellist Yo-Yo Ma and violinists Isaac Stern and Young Uck Kim, as well as his piano recitals and performances with major orchestras in the world. Starting at age 12, Ax studied piano under Mieczysław Munz of the Juilliard School. Clemens Hellsberg (born 28 March 1952) is an Austrian violinist and from 1997 to 2014 was director of the Wiener Philharmoniker. Life Born in Linz, after attending the Schottengymnasium in Vienna, Hellsberg studied musicology and ancient history at the University of Vienna, where he received his doctorate in 1980. South by Southwest (SXSW) is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and Convention (meeting), conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas.
