Music Hall Meltdown
''Music Hall Meltdown'' was a one-off musical and comedy cabaret show, which aired on 7 May 2007 as the end of BBC 4's Edwardian Season. It was recorded at the Clapham Grand and hosted by Phil Jupitus and Marcus Brigstocke, with acts including Madness, Milton Jones and Frankie Boyle. The idea had come around when Pozzitive Television were asked by BBC4 to pitch a Music Hall idea for their upcoming Spring season. Pozzitive pitched a Music Hall style variety show, designed to bring the concept of raucous, popular cabaret entertainment into the modern age, and it was chosen to mark the end of Edwardian Season. Geoff Posner
Geoffrey Harold Posner (born 7 July 1949) is a British television producer and director. Posner has directed and produced some of Britain's most successful comedy shows since the early 1980s. Career Starting off as a director on the satirical show ''Not the Nine O'Clock News'', he also directed Revolting Women for BBC Manchester in 1981, a sketch show featuring amongst others Jeni Barnett and Linda Broughton, and in 1982 went on to direct the groundbreaking BBC2 anti-sitcom '' The Young Ones''. Working also as an assistant producer on that show, he went on to produce in the same year the unaired pilot of the Rowan Atkinson historical sitcom ''Blackadder''. We Are Klang
''We Are Klang'' is a British comedy sketch show, starring Greg Davies, Steve Hall and Marek Larwood, and produced for BBC Three. The programme was short-lived, only running for six episodes in 2009, between 30 July to 10 September, and focused on the antics of the three as town council members for the fictional town of Klangbury, often having to deal with a serious problem that would result in them being fired if not resolved. The show frequently involved adult comedy with an anarchic style in presentation, which had won the group – operating as a three-piece comedy sketch group of the same name – notable acclaim for their stage performances. Marek Larwood
Marek Ryan Larwood (born 2 June 1976) is an English comedian and actor. He is best known for the BBC Three sketch show '' Rush Hour'' and for being one third of the comedy trio '' We Are Klang''. Early life Born in Norwich, Norfolk, Larwood lived in Wales before moving to the Isle of Wight. His forename is of Polish origin, as his mother had seen a 1975 documentary about a Polish schoolboy with a heart defect, who was looking forward to an operation. The operation was unsuccessful, and Marek's mother thought to name her son after the Polish schoolboy. Career Stand-up comedy Larwood won the Laughing Horse New Act of The Year competition in 2003. Gregory Daniel Davies ( ; born 14 May 1968) is a Welsh comedian, actor, presenter, and writer. The Puppini Sisters
The Puppini Sisters are an English close harmony vocal trio composed of Italian-born singer Marcella Puppini and English singers Kate Mullins and Emma Smith. Although the three are not related, the name was chosen in tribute to the Andrews Sisters. They are known for providing guest vocals on Michael Bublé's cover of "Jingle Bells". Puppini first studied fashion design at Saint Martins School of Art, and later music at Trinity College of Music in London where she met Mullins and original member Rosanna Schura, who was later replaced by Stephanie O'Brien. After eight years with the group, O'Brien was replaced by Emma Smith. The trio are backed by a three-piece band featuring Martin Kolarides on guitar, Henrik Jensen on double bass and Peter Ibbetson on drums. The group is associated with a burlesque revival. Mr Hudson & The Library
Mr Hudson and the Library were a British music group active from 2006 to 2007 and composed of Mr Hudson (vocals, guitar), Joy Joseph (steelpan, percussion, vocals), Torville Jones (piano), Robin French (aka Maps Huxley) (bass) and Wilkie Wilkinson (drums). The members hailed from Birmingham and London. Their music has been described as a fusion of old school reggae, rock and soul. Their first EP entitled ''Bread & Roses'' was released in October 2006. This was followed by the hit single "Too Late Too Late". The band played two songs, "Too Late Too Late" and "Brave the Cold" on ''Later with Jools Holland'' on 8 December 2006. Josephine Caulfield (born 26 September 1965) is a British actress, writer and comedian. Biography Born in Wales to Irish parents, she was brought up in Derbyshire and Leicestershire, England. At 17, Caulfield moved to London. For two years she lived in a squat in Kilburn Park, West London, and played drums in a rockabilly band. Heavily influenced by The Cramps and The Fleshtones the band went nowhere fast due to their "lack of songs, musical ability and talent. Clapham Grand
The Grand (previously The Grand Theatre) is a Grade II listed building on St John's Hill, near Clapham Junction in Battersea, South London. It was designed by Earnest Woodrow and was first opened in 1900 as The New Grand Theatre of Varieties.
