''Music Bank'' (; RR: ''Myujikbaengkeu'') is a South Korean music program which airs every Friday at 17:15 KST on KBS2. the show is also broadcast in more than a hundred countries through KBS World. Episodes are filmed at the KBS New Wing Open Hall in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu. The show also organizes the global live concert ''Music Bank World Tour''. History Prior to ''Music Bank'', ''Top 10 Songs'' (가요톱10) debuted in 1981 airing live at 6:30 (KST) on Fridays and aired until 1998. For the first few months of 1998, ''Bravo New Generation'' took its place, but due to low ratings, it was quickly replaced by ''Music Bank'' on June 18, 1998. The chart format that was used since ''Top 10 Songs'' was abandoned in late 2001 due to controversy and was changed into a request format. The tour stages live performances, featuring multiple K-pop acts, in various locations outside of South Korea. Since July 2011, the ''Music Bank'' World Tour has been held in multiple cities across Asia, Europe and Latin America with an estimated global live audience of 200,000. Background Korean Broadcasting System's '' Music Bank'' is one of the most popular music programs of South Korea. It is broadcast live on KBS2 domestically since 1998, and is available globally with subtitles on KBS World, including on its official YouTube stream. It is one of the driving forces behind the Korean Wave and has a steady fan base around the world as it remains the most accessible of the major K-pop television shows. ''Music Bank'' is a box set of a large variety of songs by the American rock band Alice in Chains. It was released on October 26, 1999 on Columbia Records. The box set includes previously unreleased demos, hit singles, remixes, alternative versions and four new songs, " Fear the Voices", "Get Born Again", "Lying Season", and " Died". The track " Fear the Voices" was released as a single to promote the box set. ''Music Bank'' peaked at No. 123 on the Billboard 200 chart. Overview The box set consists of three music discs, 48 songs, including rarities, previously unreleased demos and mixes by the band, and previously released and remastered material from their albums '' Facelift'', ''Sap'', '' Dirt'', '' Jar of Flies'', ''Alice in Chains'' and '' Unplugged'' and a CD-ROM disc containing various multimedia.
