Muse (Grace Jones Album)
''Muse'' is the third studio album by Jamaican singer and songwriter Grace Jones, released on September 4, 1979, by Island Records. Production and release ''Muse'' was the last album of Jones's disco trilogy recorded with producer Tom Moulton, which began in 1977 with debut ''Portfolio''. As in the case of two previous records, the first side of the album is a continuous medley of four songs, joined by a narrative about someone who has sinned. The second side, however, consists of disco songs with no lyrical relation to one another. All album art, including the cover image, is by Richard Bernstein. The album features a re-recorded version "I'll Find My Way to You", which Jones released three years prior to ''Muse''. Grace Beverly Jones (born 19 May 1948) is a Jamaican singer, songwriter, model and actress. Richard Frederick Bernstein (October 31, 1939 – October 18, 2002) was an American artist associated with pop art and the circle of Andy Warhol. From 1972 to 1989, he was the cover artist for ''Interview'' magazine. Life and career Early life and education Bernstein was born on October 31, 1939, in New York City to a family with an older brother, David and younger sister, Ellen. His father, Herbert Bernstein, was a clothing manufacturer and his mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Duke Williams (musician)
Duke Williams is an American musician, who fronted the musical group Duke Williams and the Extremes. He was also a member of The Chambers Brothers Band. Background Williams led his group, Duke Williams & The Extremes which in early 1974 was made up of himself on organ and vocals, Bob Hartnagle on guitar, Cotton Kent on piano and vocals, T. J. Tindall on guitar and vocals, Tommy Huff on bass, Charles Collins on drums and Earl Scooter on vocals. At some stage, a drummer, Corey Spags aka Corey Spagnolo was a member. The Duke Williams and the Extremes' song "Chinese Chicken" was featured on the breakbeat compilation ''Ultimate Breaks and Beats''. Richie Sambora played with Williams before forming Bon Jovi. David Christie (1 January 1948 – 11 May 1997) was a French singer. Born Jacques Pepino in Tarare, Rhône in eastern France. He also used the pseudonyms James Bolden and Napoleon Jones. He is best known for the hits "Saddle Up" (1982) and " I Love to Love (But My Baby Loves to Dance)", which are included on various 1980s compilation albums. Giovanni Giorgio Moroder (, ; born 26 April 1940) is an Italian composer and music producer. Silver Convention were a German Euro disco recording act of the 1970s. The group was originally named Silver Bird Convention or Silver Bird. History The group was initiated in Munich, then West Germany, by producers and songwriters Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay. The group was named after Levay's nickname: "Silver". Kunze in the late 1960s had been a pop lyricist who wrote protest songs in German; when these tunes went out of style, he began producing pop records and commercials. Levay had developed a taste for American music while growing up in then Yugoslavia, eventually becoming a music arranger and lyricist.
