Quinte West is a city, geographically located in but administratively separated from Hastings County, in Southern Ontario, Canada. It is located on the western end of the Bay of Quinte on Lake Ontario. The Lake Ontario terminus of the Trent–Severn Waterway is located in the municipality. History Quinte West was formed on January 1, 1998, through the amalgamation of the city of Trenton, the village of Frankford and the townships of Murray and Sidney. Newton County is a county in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of the 2010 census, the population was 8,330. The county seat is Jasper. Newton County is Arkansas's 46th county, formed on December 14, 1842, and named for Thomas W. Newton, an Arkansas Congressman. It is an alcohol prohibition or dry county. Newton County is part of the Harrison, AR Micropolitan Statistical Area. History Newton County residents were divided during the Civil War, serving in both the Confederate and Union armies. John Cecil, who had served as Newton County's sheriff, served as a Confederate Captain. Jasper blacksmith James R. Murray Township was a Township (United States), township located in what is now the Livermore Valley portion of Alameda County, California, including the present day cities of Livermore, California, Livermore, Dublin, California, Dublin, and Pleasanton, California, Pleasanton, and the census-designated place of Sunol, California, Sunol. It was named after Michael Murray and created in June 1853, a few months after Alameda County itself was created, encompassing the eastern portion of the county. It was at the time the largest of the six townships in the county. History The California gold rush beginning in 1848 drew prospectors from around the world. Many travelled by sea to Alameda County and took the road through Sunol and Livermore valleys towards the mountains. Marshall County (standard abbreviation: MS) is a county located in the U.S. state of Kansas. As of the 2020 census, the county population was 10,038. The largest city and county seat is Marysville. History The Oregon Trail crosses Marshall County. The Infamous Donner Reed Party rested along the banks of the Big Blue river and lost one of its members, Sarah Keyes, who is still buried at Alcove Springs (located outside of Marysville). Many documented pioneer bodies are buried surrounding Alcove Spring. In 1849 Francis James Marshall, from Weston, Missouri, came to Marshall County and established a ferry service on the Big Blue River at "Independence Crossing." A few years later Francis Marshall decided to stay on in Marshall County and make it his home. Murray Township is a township in Murray County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 204 at the 2000 census. History Murray Township was organized in 1872. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.5 square miles (91.9 km), of which 34.6 square miles (89.5 km) is land and 0.9 square mile (2.4 km) (2.59%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 204 people, 82 households, and 61 families residing in the township. The population density was 5.9 people per square mile (2.3/km).
