Murray Hood
Murray Hood (born November 17, 1964) is a Canadians, Canadian former professional ice hockey centre (ice hockey), centre who played 138 games with the Hampton Roads Admirals of the East Coast Hockey League between 1989 and 1992. Playing career Hood started the 1989-90 season in camp with the Greensboro Generals. He, along with teammate Brian Martin, were traded to the Admirals prior to the start of the season, Hood spent him with Providence, Fort Wayne, and in Austria. In his rookie season with the Admirals, Hood would lead the team with 69 assists and 84 points. However, Hood would not play during the playoffs against the Erie Panthers. During the 1990-91 ECHL season, Hood scored 82 assists and 103 points for the Admirals. His 82 assists remain a single-season club record. He would also receive a brief one-game call-up from the Admirals' parent club. The centre (or center in American English) in ice hockey is a forward (ice hockey), forward position of a player whose primary Hockey rink#Zones, zone of play is the middle of the ice, away from the sideboards. Centres have more flexibility in their positioning and therefore often end up covering more ice surface than any other player. Pat Bingham
Pat Bingham (born October 8, 1968) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently the president of the Colorado Rampage in the Midwest Elite Hockey League. Bingham retired as a player in 1996 following a seven-year professional career that included time in the American Hockey League, ECHL, Colonial Hockey League, Sunshine Hockey League, and Southern Hockey League. Bingham first head coaching position was during the 1999–2000 season with the Huntsville Channel Cats of the Central Hockey League. Tallahassee Tiger Sharks
The Tallahassee Tiger Sharks were a minor league professional ice hockey team that played in Tallahassee, Florida, from 1994 to 2001 as members of the East Coast Hockey League. The Tiger Sharks home rink was the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center. While in Tallahassee, the franchise was affiliated with the NHL's New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, and Montreal Canadiens. Since the loss of the Tiger Sharks franchise, several attempts have been made by local residents to bring ice hockey back to Tallahassee. Thus far, none of these efforts have been successful. Franchise history The franchise started in 1981 as the Nashville South Stars in Nashville, Tennessee, in the Central Hockey League. Richmond Renegades
The Richmond Renegades were a professional ice hockey team in Richmond, Virginia that played in the East Coast Hockey League from 1990 until 2003. The Renegades played at the Richmond Coliseum, which they marketed in later years as ''the Freezer''. The Renegades folded in 2003, but were succeeded by the Richmond RiverDogs of the United Hockey League. History In their 13 seasons, the Renegades won the Riley Cup as league champion in the 1994–95 season, the Brabham Cup in 1995–96 as regular season champion, and the Northern Conference championship in 1998–99. Johnstown Chiefs
The Johnstown Chiefs were a minor league ice hockey team located in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, that played in the ECHL. The team was founded in 1987 in the All-American Hockey League, and moved to the East Coast Hockey League (now ECHL) when the league was formed. The Chiefs lasted for 22 years in Johnstown, and was the last of the founding ECHL teams playing under its original name and in its original city. The Chiefs relocated to Greenville, South Carolina, following the completion of the 2010 season. Franchise history The owners originally wanted to name the team the Jets in honor of a team that had played in Johnstown from 1950 to 1977, mostly in the Eastern Hockey League. John Brophy (ice Hockey)
John Duncan Brophy (January 20, 1933 – May 23, 2016) was a Canadian ice hockey coach and hockey player who spent most of his career in minor professional leagues, including 18 years as a player in the Eastern Hockey League and 13 seasons as a coach in the East Coast Hockey League. From 1986 to 1988 the native of Antigonish was head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League. Playing career Brophy was a tough defenceman who played 18 seasons in the Eastern Hockey League, racking up nearly 4,000 career penalty minutes between 1955 and 1973—the most in EHL history playing parts of nine seasons with the Long Island Ducks and retiring at the age of 40.
