Weber County ( ) is a county in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2020 United States census, the population was 262,223, making it Utah's fourth-most populous county. Its county seat and largest city is Ogden, the home of Weber State University. The county was named after a fur trapper John Weber. This is a list of Superfund sites in Utah designated under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) environmental law. The CERCLA federal law of 1980 authorized the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to create a list of polluted locations requiring a long-term response to clean up hazardous material contaminations.P.L. 96-510, (), December 11, 1980. These locations are known as Superfund sites, and are placed on the National Priorities List (NPL). The NPL guides the EPA in "determining which sites warrant further investigation" for environmental remediation. As of May 1, 2010, there were sixteen Superfund sites on the National Priorities List in Utah. Intermountain Medical Center is the flagship hospital of Intermountain Healthcare. State Route 173 is a major east–west thoroughfare completely within Salt Lake County in northern Utah. From its western terminus at SR-111 it passes through the growing west side of Salt Lake County, eventually reaching US-89 in Murray. Route description Starting at its western terminus in West Valley City, SR-173 (which is routed on 5400 South) heads east through West Valley City, passing by the USANA Amphitheatre. Continuing east, the route enters Kearns, passing by the Utah Olympic Oval and Kearns High School before entering Taylorsville and crossing the Bangerter Highway. South Jordan is a city in south central Salt Lake County, Utah, United States, south of Salt Lake City. Daybreak is a master-planned community of over 4,000 acres (16 km²) located in South Jordan, Utah at the site of Bingham Canyon Mine. Daybreak was originally owned by Kennecott Land. As of 2024, it was being developed by the Larry H. Miller Company. Description and history Daybreak was originally the site of the Bingham Canyon Mine, where copper, gold, silver, and other minerals were extracted. Kennecott Land carried out an accelerated clean-up of the former mine and its surroundings. The Environmental Protection Agency praised the project and has since given the land a clean bill of health.In 2021, the undeveloped portion of the community, comprising 1,300 acres, was sold to Larry H. Draper is a city in Salt Lake and Utah counties in the U.S. state of Utah, about south of Salt Lake City along the Wasatch Front.
