Murphy Farms Number 1 is located in the Town of Egg Harbor, Wisconsin. History Frank E. Murphy was a prominent philanthropist, businessman and politician in Green Bay, Wisconsin. During the early 20th Century, he began developing a pair of farms, with his nephew, Elbridge. Originally, the Murphys bred and showcased Holstein Friesian cattle at the farm. Egg Harbor is a town in Door County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,194 at the 2000 census. The Village of Egg Harbor and the unincorporated community of Carlsville are located within the town. The Town of Egg Harbor was hit by an F3 tornado in 1998. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 102.9 square miles (266.5 km2), of which, 36.6 square miles (94.7 km2) of it is land and 66.3 square miles (171.8 km2) of it (64.47%) is water. Limestone outcroppings of the Niagara Escarpment are visible at several locations with the town and can be seen in the Bayshore Blufflands State Natural Area. The Holstein Friesian is an international breed or group of breeds of dairy cattle. It originated in Frisia, stretching from the Dutch province of North Holland to the German state of Schleswig-Holstein.
