Dalmacio (or Dalmau) de Mur y de Cervelló (died 12 September 1456) was a Spanish prelate of the fifteenth century."The Retable of Don Dalmau de Mur y Cervelló from the Archbishop's Palace at Saragossa: A Documented Work" by Francí Gomar and Tomás Giner, R. Steven Janke, ''Metropolitan Museum Journal'', Vol. 18. (1983), pp. 65–83. He served as Bishop of Girona (1415–1418), Bishop of Tarragona (1419–1431), and finally Archbishop of Zaragoza (1431–1456). Dalmacio de Mur y Cervelló was born at Cervera. He was a patron of the arts, embellishing with Gothic art the churches he served in. In 1426 he commissioned from the sculptor Pere Johan (active 1418–1458) the alabaster and wood retablo that still dominates the Cathedral of Tarragona. Estefania Carròs i de Mur (1455 – March 16, 1511), was a Spanish educator. She was born to Brianda de Mur and Nicolau Carròs i d’Arborea, who was viceroy of Sardinia in 1461-1478. When her parents moved to Sardinia, she was left in the care of her aunt Isabel de Mur, who was a lady-in-waiting to queen Juana Enriquez and a governess of the princess Joanna. Estefania Carròs did not wish to marry nor become a nun, the two accepted choices for a noblewoman. Instead, she settled in a house owned by her father at Plaza de Santa Ana in Barcelona, where she established a secular school for girls from the nobility and the burgher class. Mariano de Mur Cirera (9 October 1909 – 21 August 1936) was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender for Espanyol in the 1930s. His brother Ignacio also played football, but for CE Europa. Club career Born on 9 October 1909 in Sabadell, de Mur began his football career at his hometown club UE Sants in 1928, aged 19, where he was known as Ben-Hur. Sabine Bredy (born 29 July 1960), known professionally as Mona Mur, is a German vocalist, composer and audio designer. Early years Sabine Bredy was born in Hamburg to Polish people, Polish parents. In 1982 she collaborated with FM Einheit, Mark Chung (musician), Marc Chung and Alex Hacke of Einstürzende Neubauten.
