Givi Chokheli Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Telavi, Georgia. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of FC Kakheti Telavi. The stadium is able to hold 12,000 people. FC Kakheti Telavi
FC Kakheti Telavi was a Georgian football club based in Telavi. They played in the Umaglesi Liga, the top division in Georgian football from 2005 to 2007, but were relegated to Pirveli Liga, the Georgian second division. The club did not win a match in their relegation season of 2006–07. Kakheti Telavi finished seventh in the Pirveli Liga's Eastern (or Aghmoslaveti) Zone in the 2007–08 season. The club played their home games at Municipal Stadium. Previously, the club was known as FC Nadikvari Telavi. The club also twice won the Georgian Cup during the Soviet era, in 1972 and 1977. Telavi
Telavi ( ka, თელავი ) is the main city and administrative center of Georgia's eastern province of Kakheti. Its population consists of some 19,629 inhabitants (as of the year 2014). The city is located on the foothills of the Tsiv-Gombori Range at above sea level. History The first archaeological findings from Telavi date back to the Bronze Age. Givi Chokheli
Givi Dmitriyevich Chokheli ( ka, გივი ჩოხელი; russian: Гиви Дмитриевич Чохели) (27 June 1937 in Telavi – 25 February 1994 in Tbilisi) was a Georgian football defender. Chokheli played most of his career for Dinamo Tbilisi. After ending his playing career he worked in various coaching positions for Dinamo Tbilisi and in 1969-1970 and 1974 was a head coach. He was classified as a Master of Sport of the USSR in 1959.
