The Multishow Brazilian Music Award (), or simply known as the Multishow Award (Brazilian Portuguese: ''Prêmio Multishow''), is an award show presented by the Brazilian channel Multishow. Established to honor the best in Brazilian music, the award was originally called the TVZ Award (Brazilian Portuguese: ''Prêmio TVZ''). It is regarded as the largest music award in Brazil. The first ceremony was held in 1994. History The first award ceremony was held as TVZ Award in 1994, with five categories. In 1998, the award changed its name to Multishow Brazilian Music Award. From 1999, the winners, who were previously chosen by phone, were selected via the internet. Since 2011, the award has had a specialized jury members of the music industry experts who determine the winners in the technical categories. Regina Casé
Regina Maria Loureiro Barreto Casé OMC (born 25 February 1954) is a Brazilian actress, screenwriter, director, producer, and television presenter. Career In 1974, Casé, together with Hamilton Vaz Pereira, Jorge Alberto Soares, Luiz Arthur Peixoto e Daniel Dantas, founded a theater company called Asdrúbal Trouxe o Trombone ("Asdrúbal brought the trombone") in Rio de Janeiro. The group was influential in the cultural scene of Rio in the late 1970s. The group's debut production was an adaptation of '' The Inspector General'' by Nikolai Gogol.
