Mujahid Yusof Rawa
Mujahid Yusof Rawa ( Jawi: مجاهد بن يوسف; born 25 October 1964), is a Malaysian politician who served as the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Religious Affairs in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020. He has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Parit Buntar since March 2008. He is a member of the National Trust Party (AMANAH), a component party of the PH opposition coalition and was a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a component party of the ruling Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalition. Mujahid is the son of former president of PAS, Yusof Rawa and has a PhD in political science. Yusof Rawa
Yusof bin Abdullah ( Jawi: ; 8 May 1922 – 27 April 2000) was a Malaysian politician. He was a member of the Parliament of Malaysia and from 1982 to 1989, he served as President of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS). His legal name was Yusof Abdullah. Early career Yusof joined PAS in 1951, and notably unseated future Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from the seat of Kota Setar Selatan in the 1969 election. Yusof was appointed as a Deputy Minister while PAS was a member of the governing Barisan Nasional coalition in the 1970s, and also served as Malaysia's Ambassador to Afghanistan, Turkey and Iran. The National Alliance ( ms, Perikatan Nasional; abbreviation, abbrev: PN) is a political coalition composed of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) and Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (GERAKAN). Malaysian Islamic Party
The Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS; ms, Parti Islam Se-Malaysia; ms, ڤرتي إسلام سمليسيا, label= Jawi, script=arab, italic=unset) is an Islamist political party in Malaysia. Jawi (; ace, Jawoë; Kelantan-Pattani: ''Yawi''; ) is a writing system used for writing several languages of Southeast Asia, such as Acehnese, Banjarese, Kerinci, Maguindanaon, Malay, Minangkabau, Tausūg, and Ternate. Jawi is based on the Arabic script, consisting of all of the original 31 Arabic letters, and six additional letters constructed to fit the phonemes native to Malay, and an additional phoneme used in foreign loanwords, but not found in Classical Arabic, which are ''ca'' ( ), ''nga'' ( ), ''pa'' ( ), ''ga'' ( ), ''va'' ( ), and ''nya'' ( ).
