Muja (Amharic: ሙጃ) is a town in northern Ethiopia. Part of the Semien Wollo Zone of the Amhara Region, this town has a latitude and longitude of with an elevation of 2918 meters above sea level. History Muja is one of the oldest town in the province of Lasta next to the mighty Lalibela. Muja, Western Australia
Muja is a rural town and locality of the Shire of Collie in the South West region of Western Australia. The western part of the locality is dominated by coal mining and the coal-fired Muja Power Station while the eastern part is rural and forested. The townsite of Muja, located in the north-west of the locality, was set aside for a townsite reserve at the Cabbage Trees railway siding in 1907. Cabbage Trees was located on the Collie-Darkan Railway and opened in 1907. In November 1907, the siding was renamed to Muja but townsite reserve was not formally made a townsite until 1973. The name Muja results from the Aboriginal word for the Western Australian Christmas tree, the ''Nuytsia floribunda'', also known as the cabbage tree. The heritage listed Buckingham Mill Precinct is located in Muja, where timber was historically milled for the Collie coalfields. Little remains now of the former mill, cottages and church. Muja Power Station
Muja Power Station is a power station in Muja, southeast of Collie, Western Australia. It has eight steam turbines served by coal-fired boilers that together generate a total capacity of 854 megawatts of electricity. It is the largest power station in the South West Interconnected System, accounting for roughly 15 percent of capacity. The coal is mined in the nearby Collie Sub-basin. In June 2022 the Government of Western Australia announced that the power station would close by 2029. Construction on the power station by Clough for the State Energy Commission of Western Australia commenced in April 1962. The station was commissioned on 21 April 1966. The Ichigkat Muja – Cordillera del Condor National Park () is a protected area in Peru located in the region of Amazonas (Peruvian department), Amazonas. It protects part of the Eastern Andes forests at the Cordillera del Cóndor, Cordillera del Condor mountain range. The Jurassic Museum of Asturias (Spanish language, Spanish: ''Museo del Jurásico de Asturias''; ''MUJA'') is located in the area of Rasa de San Telmo near the parish (administrative division) of Llastres in the municipality of Colunga, Asturias, Spain. Alban Muja (born 10 September 1980) is a Kosovan contemporary artist and film-maker. In 2019 he represented Kosovo at the 58th Venice Biennale. Muja (alligator)
Muja ( sr-Cyrl, Муја; ) (hatched c. 1925–1935) is an American alligator living in the Belgrade Zoo and is the oldest known alligator in captivity. Having arrived at the zoo in 1937, Muja has lived through both the Operation Retribution (1941), Axis and Allied bombing of Yugoslavia in World War II, Allied bombings of Belgrade during World War II, as well as the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999. Following the death of Čabulītis at the Riga Zoo in Latvia in 2007, Muja was recognized as the oldest known alligator in captivity by Guinness World Records. In 2012, Muja's right foot had to be amputated after he was diagnosed with gangrene.
