Muftiship Of Kumanovo
Muftiship of Kumanovo (Macedonian: Муфтиство Куманово) is one of the 13 muftiships of Islamic Religious Community of Macedonia in Kumanovo, North Macedonia. Current Mufti is Abedin Imeri (Абедин Имери). New building of the Muftiship was opened on July 11, 2016. Bursa Mayor Recep Altepe was one of the guests of the ceremony. Macedonian ( ; , , ) is an Eastern South Slavic language. Muslims in North Macedonia represent just under one-third of the nation's total population according to the 2021 census, making Islam the second most widely professed religion in the country. Muslims in North Macedonia follow Sunni Islam of the Hanafi madhhab. Some northwestern and western regions of the country have Muslim majorities. A large majority of all the Muslims in the country are ethnic Albanians, with the rest being primarily Turks, Romani, Bosniaks or Torbeš. The Jusuf Efendi Mosque (; ; ) was built in 1773 at a time when North Macedonia was a part of the Ottoman Empire. It was damaged in the 1963 earthquake and reconstructed in 1967. Halit Efendi Mosque
The Halit Efendi Mosque (; ; ) is a mosque in Lipkovo Municipality, North Macedonia. History The mosque was built in 1415 at a time when North Macedonia was a part of the Ottoman Empire. It was reconstructed in 1936, 1969, 1987 and the latest in 1994. In the 1994 renovation, the mosque and its minarets were completely rebuilt. Lipkovo
Lipkovo (, ) is a village in North Macedonia. It is the seat of Lipkovo Municipality. History According to the statistics of the Bulgarian ethnographer Vasil Kanchov from 1900, 490 inhabitants lived in Lipkovo, 250 Muslim Albanians and 240 Bulgarian Exarchists. Lipkovo was a central strategic village during the 2001 insurgency in Macedonia between the NLA and the Macedonian Army. The Lipkovo crisis took place here during the conflict, which was an NLA victory. Today, it has a dam which supplies water and electricity to the Kumanovo region.
