Mubaarak
Mubaarak (Somali: Mubarak, Arabic: مبارك, Romanized: Mubārak) is a town under the Governorate of Merca (Marka, Marca, Merka) City Mainland. The Shebelle River (Webi Shabeelie) flows through the east of Mubaarak. The Shabelle River flows south, and originates from the Ethiopian Highlands. Geography Mubaarak is located in the Qoriyoley District, in the South West State of Somalia. It is from the national capital of Somalia, Mogadishu. The nearest airport to Mubaarak is the K50 Airstrip, and the singular road that connects the two is named Marka-Afgooye Road. Lower Shabelle ( so, Shabeellaha Hoose, Maay: ''Shibelithy Hoosy'', ar, شبيلي السفلى, it, Basso Scebeli) is an administrative region ('' gobol'') in southern Somalia. Geography Lower Shabelle is bordered by the regions of Banaadir, Middle Shabelle (Shabeellaha Dhexe), Hiran, Bay, Middle Jubba (Jubbada Dhexe) and by the Somali Sea. It is named after the Shebelle River, which passes through it. Until 1984, when the regions were reassigned, it was part of the larger Benadir region and its capital was Mogadishu. Daru is the capital of the Western Province of Papua New Guinea and a former Catholic bishopric. Daru town falls under the jurisdiction of Daru Urban LLG. Genale
Genale is a town founded by Italian colonists in the southeastern Lower Shebelle (Shabeellaha Hoose) region of Italian Somalia. Currently it is called Janaale. History Genale was created in 1924 by a group of settlers from the Italian city of Torino, with the supervision of the Italian governor of the colony. Near the Genale of the colonists and separated by the Shebelle river, soon grew a bigger city populated by Somalis (working as cheap labor force in the plantations): the actual Janaale. After WW2 remained only Janaale, while Genale disappeared when the defeated Italians moved away from Somalia. In 1924 indeed it was started the Italian colonization of the area of Genale, in southern Somalia, forming a group of small and medium-sized farms.
