Mr. C (other)
Richard West (born 2 January 1965), known as Mr. C, is an English house music DJ, producer and rapper. He was the resident DJ at the early acid house "RIP" nights at Clink Street, London, and later was the co-owner/co-founder of London's The End nightclub. West was the frontman for The Shamen during their most commercially successful era. He is a proponent of tech house, a fusion of house and techno music. Career West was born in London in 1965. He started MCing in the London clubs aged 16 and earned a reputation as a fast-talking, vivacious rapper working with LWR radio's Ron Tom, Jasper the Vinyl Junkie and Jazzy M. He joined with Colin Faver and Evil Eddie Richards to become resident rapper at Camden Palace. Mile End
Mile End is an area in London, England and is located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is in East London and part of the East End of London, East End. It is east of Charing Cross. Situated on the part of the London-to-Colchester road called Mile End Road, it was one of the earliest suburbs of London. It was also known as Mile End Old Town; the name provides a geographical distinction from the unconnected former hamlet called Mile End New Town. In 2011, Mile End had a population of 28,544. KOKO (music Venue)
Koko (stylised as KOKO, previously called The Music Machine and Camden Palace) is a concert venue and former theatre in Camden Town, London. The building was known as Camden Palace from 1982 until its 2004 purchase and extensive restoration, led by Oliver Bengough and Mint Entertainment. Following the restoration, the venue was renamed as Koko, and is one of the premier live music venues in London. The venue is a fixture for many music, fashion and art partygoers and notoriously famous for its London nightlife scene. On the evening of 6 January 2020, a large fire broke out in the building. Nathaniel Pierre Jones, better known by his stage name DJ Pierre, is an American DJ and performer of house music based in Chicago. "Ebeneezer Goode" is a song by Scottish electronic music group the Shamen. Remixed by the Beatmasters, the song became their biggest hit when released as a single on 24 August 1992 by One Little Indian, topping the UK Singles Chart for four weeks. The group's original version featured on the vinyl edition of their fifth album, '' Boss Drum'' (1992). "Ebeneezer Goode" was one of the most controversial UK number-one hits of the 1990s due to its perceived oblique endorsement of recreational drug use, and it was initially banned by the BBC. It has been claimed the single was eventually withdrawn after the band were hounded by the British tabloid press, although the Shamen stated it was deleted while at number one due to its long chart run "messing up our release schedule".
