Moxo Languages
Moxo (also known as ''Mojo'', pronounced 'Moho') is any of the Arawakan languages spoken by the Moxo people of the Llanos de Moxos in northeastern Bolivia. The two extant languages of the Moxo people, ''Trinitario'' and ''Ignaciano'', are as distinct from one another as they are from neighboring Arawakan languages. The extinct ''Magiana'' was also distinct. Moxo languages have an active–stative syntax. Sociolinguistic background The languages belong to a group of tribes that originally ranged through the upper Mamoré, extending east and west from the Guapure ( Itenes) to the Beni, and are now centered in the Province of Moxos, Department of Beni, Bolivia. They form part of the Mamoré-Guaporé linguistic area. Moxo was also the primary lingua franca ( es, lengua general) used in the Jesuit Missions of Moxos. Francesc De Moxó
Francesc de Paula de Moxó i de Sentmenat (18 March 1879 – 17 April 1920) was a Spanish politician and sports leader, who served as the 10th president of the football club FC Barcelona in 1913 and 1914, as well as the 5th and 13th president of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona and Catalan Football Federation respectively. He was also a journalist and financial manager of magazine "Stadium". Early and personal life Francesc de Moxó was born on 18 March 1879 in ''Calle dels Caçadors'', Barcelona, as the son of Dídac Moxó (also spelled Moixó) (1857–1926), and of the , Maria Mercè de Sentmenat i de Patiño (1857–1935), both born in Barcelona. The Marquise de Sant Mori was the promoter of the neighborhood in Badalona. Manuel Córdova-Rios
Manuel Córdova-Rios (November 22, 1887 – November 22, 1978) was a vegetalista (herbalist) of the upper Amazon, and the subject of several popular books. As a teenage mestizo of Iquitos he joined a company's work party to set up camp in the neighboring Amazon forest. They commercially cut rubber trees. He was, however, captured by a native tribe, and apparently lived among them for seven years. The elderly chief taught him in intensive private sessions traditional tribal knowledge: medicinal plants of the jungle, and ways of leadership. The small tribe knew skills for hunting in the jungle, which he learned well, acquiring the name ''Ino Moxo'' (black jaguar). The chief also led night-long group sessions under the influence of ayahuasca to sharpen prowess in the hunt. After the chief's death, Córdova was acknowledged as leader of the tribe for some years. Rafael Larraín Moxó
José Rafael Larraín Moxó (born 16 February 1813 – 28 December 1892) was a Chilean people, Chilean politician, farmer, businessman and banker. Elected senator for Santiago for four terms from 1855 to 1882, he was also Senate of Chile, president of the Senate of Chile from 1864 to 1867. A co-founder of the National Agricultural Society, he was its director and president from 1845 to 1847, and from 1875 to 1893. In 1859, he co-founded a credit institution, the Banco de Chile, and became president of the Bank of Valparaiso in 1874 and later the National Bank. A member of the Conservative Party (Chile), Conservative Party, he was its president from 1884 to 1885. On 19 October 1839, he married Victoria Prieto Warnes, the daughter of then-president Joaquín Prieto.
