Mount Stuart (Queensland)
Mount Stuart is a mountain in the locality of Mount Stuart in the City of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. It overlooks Townsville with an elevation of 584 metres. It was named for Clarendon Stuart (1833–1912), from 1859 Townsville's first district surveyor. Mount Stuart is used for commercial and ABC Queensland television transmission, it was also used as a Bureau of Meteorology radar station until late 2011, where it was moved to Hervey Range. Mount Stuart is a locality in the City of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. In the , Mount Stuart had "no people or a very low population". Geography The Ross River forms the western boundary of the locality. The Ross River Dam is at the south-west of the locality which forms Lake Ross which is the south-western boundary of the locality. The terrain is mountainous rising to the peak of Mount Stuart (584 metres) (). Almost all of the locality is within the Mount Stuart Training Area used by the Australian Army; it is nearby to the army's Lavarack Barracks. 3rd Brigade (Australia)
The 3rd Brigade is a combined arms brigade of the Australian Army, principally made up of the 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, 1st and 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, 3rd Battalions of the Royal Australian Regiment (1 and 3 RAR). Initially raised in 1903 as part of the post-Federation Australian Army, it was removed from the order of battle in 1906 following the restructure of the field force.
