Mount Pleasant Football Academy is a Jamaican professional football club based in the parish of Saint Ann. The club currently plays in the Red Stripe Premier League. History Formed in 2016 by Peter Gould, Mount Pleasant Football Academy, formerly known as “Stush in the Bush”, is nestled in the hills of St Ann, less than five minutes from the Runaway Bay main road, and has brought back football hype to the parish for the first time since Benfica FC participated in the 2010/2011 season. The club gained promotion for the first time to the Red Stripe Premier League via the playoffs on July 1, 2018 by finishing second in the four team table. Saint Ann's Bay, Jamaica
Saint Ann's Bay is a settlement in Jamaica, the capital of Saint Ann Parish. It had a population of 10,961 at the 1991 census. Saint Ann is the largest parish in Jamaica. It is situated on the north coast of the island, in the county of Middlesex, roughly halfway between the eastern and western ends of the island. Theodore Eccleston Whitmore, OD (born 5 August 1972) is a Jamaican former professional footballer. He is the former head coach of Jamaica national football team. Club career Whitmore attended St. James High School in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The National Premier League, also known for sponsorship purposes as the Red Stripe Premier League, is sanctioned by the Jamaican Football Federation as the top division for men's association football in Jamaica. Contested between 12 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Jamaica's regional Super Leagues where the two lowest placed teams are relegated to their corresponding local second division league. 2018–19 National Premier League
The 2018–19 National Premier League is the 45th season of the National Premier League, the top division football competition in Jamaica. The season began on 16 September 2018 and will end on 29 April 2019. Portmore United are the defending champions, having won their 6th title last season. Teams Sandals South Coast FC and Boys' Town finished 11th and 12th in last season's competition and were relegated to their respective regional Super Leagues, the Western Super League and KSAFA Super League respectively. At the end of last season, the champions of the four Super Leagues participated in a promotion playoff double round robin tournament.
