Mount Margaret (Alaska)
Mount Margaret, also known as Primrose Ridge, is a summit in Alaska, United States. Description Mount Margaret is located in the Alaska Range and in Denali National Park and Preserve. It is situated west of Mount Healy at miles 14–20 of the Park Road which traverses the mountain's southern slope. Precipitation runoff from the mountain drains west into the Sanctuary River and east into Savage River, which are both tributaries of the Teklanika River. Topographic relief is modest as the summit rises above the Savage River Canyon in two miles (3.2 km). Climate Based on the Köppen climate classification, Mount Margaret is located in a tundra climate zone with long, cold, snowy winters, and mild summers. Margaret Murie
Margaret Thomas "Mardy" Murie (August 18, 1902 – October 19, 2003) was a naturalist, writer, adventurer, and conservationist. Dubbed the "Grandmother of the Conservation Movement" by both the Sierra Club and the Wilderness Society, she helped in the passage of the Wilderness Act, and was instrumental in creating the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The Teklanika River (Lower Tanana: ''Tach'edhaneek'a'') is a tributary of the Nenana River in the U.S. state of Alaska. Mount Healy, also known in Denaʼina language as ''Dlel Neelghu Nodaadlghunee'' (meaning "mountains that are joined together"), is a 5,716-foot (1,742 meter) elevation mountain summit located in the Alaska Range, in Denali National Park and Preserve, in Alaska, United States. It is situated immediately northwest of park headquarters and south of Healy.
