Mount Gargash
Mount Gargash is located in Isfahan Province, 30 km South Kashan Kashan ( fa, ; Qashan; Cassan; also romanized as Kāshān) is a city in the northern part of Isfahan province, Iran. At the 2017 census, its population was 396,987 in 90,828 families. Some etymologists argue that the city name comes from ... in Iran near the towns of Kamu and Choghan. The peak has an altitude of and is the home to the Iranian National Observatory. The peak was chosen as the outcome of a site selection campaign for the national observatory project in 2008, and is known for its low atmospheric turbulence thus suitable for astronomical observations. Mount Gargash is located in a protected zone for the conservation of its wildlife. A dedicated road opened to access the mountain in 2016. Kashan
Kashan ( fa, ; Qashan; Cassan; also Romanization of Persian, romanized as Kāshān) is a city in the northern part of Isfahan province, Iran. At the 2017 census, its population was 396,987 in 90,828 families. Some etymologists argue that the city name comes from the Kasian, the original inhabitants of the city, whose remains are found at Tepe Sialk, Tapeh Sialk dating back 9,000 years; later this was changed to "Kashian", hence the town name. Between the 12th and the 14th centuries Kashan was an important centre for the production of high quality pottery and tiles. Iranian National Observatory
Iranian National Observatory (INO) is an Iranian astronomical observatory inaugurated in 2021. It has reported the capture of its first light on 15 October 2022 upon the commissioning of the home-grown optical telescope with a primary mirror of 3.4 m, making it by far the country's largest astronomical research facility.
