Mount Britton (Puerto Rico)
El Yunque or El Yunque Peak (Spanish: ''Pico El Yunque'') (Taíno: ''Yukiyu'') is a mountain located fully within the boundaries of the El Yunque National Forest, part of the U.S. Forest Service, which is the only tropical rainforest under the U.S. Forest Service jurisdiction. It is located in the municipality of Río Grande. Background The peak itself, standing at above sea level is not the highest in Puerto Rico or even the Sierra de Luquillo range where it is located. It is however the most famous peak due to its curious shape, its natural environment and history, and for its cultural importance to the Taino people. The peak is nearly always covered in thin mist and due to its high humidity, a quick shower develops during some afternoons. Sierra De Luquillo
The Sierra de Luquillo (English: "Luquillo Mountains") is a steep-sided, high-precipitation, and deeply-forested subrange of the Cordillera Central mountain range in the main island of Puerto Rico. Separated from the southeastern Sierra de Cayey subrange by the Caguas Valley, it is concentrated from west to east in the municipalities of Rio Grande, Luquillo, and Naguabo in the northeastern region of the island. The Taíno are the Indigenous peoples of the Caribbean, Indigenous peoples of the Greater Antilles and surrounding islands. The Northeast Ecological Corridor Nature Reserve (NECNR) (Spanish language, Spanish: ''Reserva Natural Corredor Ecológico del Noreste'') refers to an area designated as a protected Nature reserve, Nature Reserve located on the northeast coast of Puerto Rico, between the municipalities of Luquillo, Puerto Rico, Luquillo and Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Fajardo. Los Picachos
Los Picachos is a mountain peak of El Yunque massif located immediately to the southeast of El Yunque's main peak in the Sierra de Luquillo. The peak consists of a high ridge made up of several smaller peaks (which gives the mountain its name) and it is one of the highest peaks of El Yunque National Forest that can be reached by a hiking trail. It is located at 3,041 feet (927 m) above the sea level. The Köppen climate classification divides Earth climates into five main climate groups, with each group being divided based on patterns of seasonal precipitation and temperature.
