Motovilikhinsky City District (russian: Мотови́лихинский район) is one of the seven city districts of the city of Perm in Perm Krai, Russia. Population: It is the second most populous city district of Perm (after Sverdlovsky City District). Geography The city district is situated on both banks of the Kama River. Two other rivers flowing through it are the Iva and the Yegoshikha. Motovilikha Plants
PJSC Motovilikha Plants / Motovilikhinskiye Zavody PAO (MOTZ.MM) (russian: Мотовилихинские заводы; ) is a Russian metallurgical and military equipment manufacturer. In 2016 Motovilikha Plants joined NPO Splav, a Rostec company. It is named after the former town of Motovilikha, where it's located, which in 1938 was amalgamated into the city of Perm. The town in turn was named after the eponymous river, a small Kama tributary. History The plant was established in 1736, when Empress Anna ordered the establishment of a smelter to produce steel for the nearby factories that existed at the time, supplying steel blocks for the manufacture of rifles and guns. By the late 18th century the manufacturing of weapons began in the village of Motovilikha, to meet the increasing demand. Perm (russian: Пермь, p=pʲermʲ), previously known as Yagoshikha (Ягошиха) (1723–1781), and Molotov (Молотов) (1940–1957), is the largest city and the administrative centre of Perm Krai, Russia. The city is located on the banks of the Kama River, near the Ural Mountains, covering an area of , with a population of over one million residents. Perm is the fifteenth-largest city in Russia, and the fifth-largest city in the Volga Federal District. In 1723, a copper-smelting works was founded at the village of ''Yagoshikha''. In 1781 the settlement of Yagoshikha became the town of ''Perm''. Perm's position on the navigable Kama River, leading to the Volga, and on the Siberian Route across the Ural Mountains, helped it become an important trade and manufacturing centre. Perm Krai (russian: Пе́рмский край, r=Permsky kray, p=ˈpʲɛrmskʲɪj ˈkraj, ''Permsky krai'', , ''Perem lador'') is a federal subject of Russia (a krai) that came into existence on December 1, 2005 as a result of the 2004 referendum on the merger of Perm Oblast and Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug. The city of Perm is the administrative center. The population of the krai was 2,635,276 according to the ( 2010 Census). Komi-Permyak Okrug retained its autonomous status within Perm Krai during the transitional period of 2006–2008. It also retained a budget separate from that of the krai, keeping all federal transfers. Starting in 2009, Komi-Permyak Okrug's budget became subject to the budgeting law of Perm Krai. Yegoshikha River
The Yegoshikha (russian: Егоши́ха, ), formerly Yagoshikha (russian: Ягоши́ха), is a river in Perm Krai, Russia, being the left tributary of the Kama. In spite of its relatively small size it is famous for its historical significance. It mainly flows across Sverdlovsky City District of the city of Perm and along the border of Motovilikhinsky City District. The source of the Yegoshikha river is in the forest area close to Lipovaya Gora and Vladimirskiy microdistricts. The river flows along the ''Yegoshikha ravine'', which divides the left-bank (relatively to Kama) part of Perm city and is crossed by two dams and a bridge (which is also called a dam by the general population).
