''Motorrad'' (German for motorcycle) is a German magazine about motorcycles and motorcycling. With an average circulation of approximately 135,000 copies it is Europe's largest magazine for this target audience. The magazine is part of Gruner + Jahr. It is published biweekly by the publishing house Motor Presse Stuttgart. The editor-in-chief is Michael Pfeiffer. A unique feature of the publication is its motorcycle tests (single, comparison and long-term) over several tens of thousands of kilometers (in the column test and technology). In May 2011, the 2,000,000th motorcycle produced by BMW Motorrad was an BMW R1200GS, R1200GS. History The company began as an aircraft engine manufacturer in the early 20th century and through World War I. BMW manufactured its first motorcycle in 1923, the BMW R32, R32, which featured a flat-twin, flat-twin boxer engine. BMW Motorrad still uses the flat-twin boxer configuration, but now manufactures motorcycles with a variety of engine configurations.
