Motherwell Technical College
New College Lanarkshire Motherwell Campus is a further education college located in the Ravenscraig area of Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. An independent institution from 1967, in 2013 it merged with Cumbernauld College to form New College Lanarkshire. History Originally sited next to Our Lady's High School and Fir Park Stadium in Motherwell, the original building has since been demolished for redevelopment as a housing estate. The college moved into a new campus in August 2009, which is located from the old site. It was officially opened in January 2010 by the Princess Royal. The campus is fully equipped, and has an on-site nursery. There are two librarys/learning centres which members of the public can use on a drop in basis. Kate Bracken (born 12 June 1990) is a Scottish actress. Bracken is best known for her role as Alex Millar in '' Being Human''. Early life Bracken grew up just outside Fort William near the village of Spean Bridge. She attended Kilmonivaig Primary School before attending Lochaber High School. Further Education Colleges In Scotland

Further education colleges offer courses for people over the age of sixteen, involving school-level qualifications such as Higher Grade exams, as well as work-based learning. Davy Russell (politician)
David Russell (born 1961 or 1962) is a Scottish Labour politician who has served as the Member of the Scottish Parliament for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse since 6 June 2025. He was elected to parliament after a by-election following the death of Christina McKelvie on 27 March 2025. Early life and career David Russell was born in Quarter, South Lanarkshire. He attended Quarter Primary School and Hamilton Grammar School, before earning a Civil Engineering Certificate from Motherwell Technical College. He undertook an apprenticeship in roadworks. Midge Ure
James "Midge" Ure (; born 10 October 1953) is a Scottish singer-songwriter and record producer. His stage name, Midge, is a phonetic reversal of Jim. Ure enjoyed particular success in the 1970s and 1980s in bands including Slik, Thin Lizzy, Rich Kids, Visage, and as the second bandleader of Ultravox after John Foxx had left, carrying the band into the high charts positions for the six following years before disbanding it. Frank Roy
Francis Roy (born 29 August 1958) is a former British Labour Party politician, who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Motherwell and Wishaw from 1997 to 2015. He was a Government Whip and Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury from 2006 to 2010, after having served as an Assistant Whip from 2005. Early life Roy was educated at Our Lady's High School, Motherwell, and later at Motherwell College (1992) and Glasgow Caledonian University in Consumer and Management Studies (1994).
