Naghadeh
Naqadeh (; ; ), formerly known as Sulduz, is the main town of Naqadeh County, West Azerbaijan Province in Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 72,975, in 18,320 families. Name Naqadeh is the current name of the town (and county). The former name, known as Solduz (also spelled Sulduz, in Kurdish: Sundus), in reference to the Mongol Sulduz tribe, may have replaced an older name (now lost) during the reign of the Ilkhanid ruler Ghazan in 1303. Geography Naqadeh is situated on the bank of the Bayzawa river, encompassing an old artificial mound. The county in which Naqadeh is located is to the south-west of Lake Urmia on the lower course of the Gadar river. Demographics The town has a Shia Azerbaijani (Karapapakh) majority, with a Sunni Kurdish minority. Kurdistan Democratic Party (Iran)
The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP; ku, حیزبی دێموکراتی کوردستان, translit=Hizba Dêmokrata Kurdistanê, abbreviated HDK; fa, حزب دموکرات کردستان) is an ethnic party of Kurds in Iran, which split from Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (KDPI) in 2006 after a dispute over choosing its next leader in the latter's 13th convention. The KDPI and Iran’s Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP-Iran) have been engaged in several rounds of reunification talks over the years. On August 21, 2022, the two parties announced that they would finally reunite. The first time in 2016, Iranian agents had planted a bomb outside the party headquarters that killed and injured several members. The second time was in 2018 when the Iranian regime attacked the KDP-I party headquarters with ballistic missilier from Iran to Iraqi Kurdistan where the party headquarters is located. The Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI; ku, حیزبی دێموکراتی کوردستانی ئێران, Hîzbî Dêmukratî Kurdistanî Êran, HDKA; fa, حزب دموکرات کردستان ایران, Ḥezb-e Demokrāt-e Kordestān-e Īrān), also known as the Kurdish Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI), is an armed leftist ethnic party of Kurds in Iran, exiled in northern Iraq. The group calls for self-determination of Kurdish people and has been described as seeking either separatism or autonomy within a federal system.
