Mosley (film)
''Mosley'' is a 2019 animated fantasy film, fantasy adventure drama film produced by Huhu Studios. It was written and directed by Kirby Atkins, co-directed by Jun Huang, and co-written by Ge Jing. The film stars Atkins and his daughter Leah as Mosley and Rue respectively, with Rhys Darby, Lucy Lawless, Temuera Morrison, and John Rhys-Davies in supporting roles. The film was released in New Zealand on 10 October 2019 by Rialto Distribution. It is the first New Zealand–Chinese co-production. Plot summary In ancient times, the thoriphants were creatures that migrated north in response to human encroachment. Those that stayed behind were enslaved by humanity, who used them as beasts of burden. Gradually, their backs became bent and they lost the use of their hands. Some thoriphants believe that their cousins known as the Uprights will return to free them one day. ''Mosley'' was a 1998 television serial (or mini-series) produced for Channel 4 based on British fascist Sir Oswald Mosley's life in the period between the two world wars. The series was directed by Robert Knights, from a screenplay by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, both better known for their television comedy series. It was based on the books ''Rules of the Game'' and ''Beyond the Pale'' by Nicholas Mosley, Mosley's son. The series was released on VHS and DVD. Episode details The series was in four parts. Mosley Mayne
General Sir Ashton Gerard Oswald Mosley Mayne, (24 April 1889 – 17 December 1955) was a senior British Indian Army officer active in both the First World War and Second World War, where he commanded Eastern Command, India. Early career Born on 24 April 1889 and educated at Wellington College and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Mayne was commissioned as a second lieutenant on to the Unattached List, Indian Army on 9 September 1908. He arrived in India on 9 December 1908. After spending a year first attached to the British Army's East Lancashire Regiment then the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons he was accepted for the Indian Army on 9 December 1909 and appointed to the 13th Duke of Connaught's Own Lancers (Watson's Horse). He was promoted to lieutenant on 9 December 1910. The regiment was stationed at Risalpur in 1914 for service, if needed, on the North West Frontier. Mosley Street
Mosley Street is a street in Manchester, England. It runs between its junction with Piccadilly Gardens and Market Street to St Peter's Square. Beyond St Peter's Square it becomes Lower Mosley Street. It is the location of several Grade II and Grade II* listed buildings. Mosley Street tram stop was located near Piccadilly Gardens. In 2009, the tram lines on Mosley Street were reconstructed. Historically buses used Mosley Street en route to Piccadilly Gardens, however the services were rerouted along Portland Street in 2011. The street is now used by Metrolink trams and no cars are permitted on the street, although emergency service vehicles can still use the road and traffic signals at junctions remain in operational.
