Mosiah (film)
''Mosiah'' is a 2023 American independent historical short film largely based on the 1923 US court trial of Marcus Mosiah Garvey. The film was directed by Jirard and co-written by the lead actor, Samuel Lee Fudge and Jirard. The film's release on Amazon Prime Video was announced on January 19, 2025, to coincide with and commemorate the complete and unconditional pardon President Joe Biden issued to Garvey that same day. The film was nominated for Best Short Film at the Black Reel Awards of 2025. Shaun Martin
Shaun Martin (August 23, 1978 – August 3, 2024) was an American composer, arranger, record producer, and multi-instrumental musician. Martin was a member of the jazz fusion band Snarky Puppy, as well as music director for Gospel music star Kirk Franklin, and former Minister of Music at Dallas’ Friendship-West Baptist Church. Martin was awarded four Grammys for his work with Franklin and three as a member of Snarky Puppy. Life and career Shaun Martin was born in Dallas, Texas, on August 23, 1978. His mother started him on piano lessons when he was only four years old, learning classical music and jazz. Through his church, he also learned gospel music. He attended Dallas' Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts before attending Weatherford College and the University of North Texas. Edward Young Clarke was the Imperial Wizard ''pro tempore'' of the Ku Klux Klan from 1915 to 1922. Prior to his Klan activities, Clarke headed the Atlanta-based Southern Publicity Association.
