Moscow Rock Laboratory
The Moscow Rock Laboratory (; 1986–1992) was an officially sanctioned rock club in Moscow that promoted and controlled the activities of Soviet rock musicians who did not belong to state concert organizations. History The Moscow Rock Laboratory was established on October 23, 1985. The laboratory's headquarters were in the Unified Scientific and Methodological Center of the Main Department of Culture of the Executive Committee of the Moscow City Council (). The club was founded by order of Viktor Grishin, then the First Secretary of the Moscow party committee of the CPSU. The Rock Laboratory was set up with the help and support of the local Komsomol. The Moscow Rock Laboratory's first director was Bulat Musurmankulov. Olga Opryatnaya was the laboratory's second director. Artemy Troitsky was elected to the governing board of the Rock Club. Brigada S
Brigada S (Брига́да С) was a Soviet/Russian rock band fronted by Garik Sukachov which played dynamic mix of rough rock and roll, reggae and rhythm and blues marked by the effective use of the brass section. Formed in 1984 the self-described "proletarian jazz orchestra" released five albums (first two on tape), toured the United States (1988) and appeared in Savva Kulish's film ''The Tragedy in Rock'' (1988). In 1989 the participated in the ''Moscow Music Peace Festival'' which brought hard rock and metal acts from the United States and Europe to perform alongside Russian bands. They broke up in 1993. The Leningrad Rock Club (russian: Ленинградский рок-клуб) was a historic music venue of the 1980s in Leningrad, situated on Rubinstein Street in the city centre. Opened in 1981 and overseen by the KGB, it became the first legal rock music venue in Leningrad. Overall, it was the largest rock scene in the Soviet Union and influenced the development of Russian rock. Korrozia Metalla (''Коррозия Металла'', , Russian for "Corrosion of metal",) is a Russian (formerly Soviet) thrash metal band led by Sergey "Pauk" Troitsky. It is best known for black humour lyrics and provocative public performances. Biography Korrozia was founded in 1984 in Moscow by bass guitarist and vocalist Sergey Troitsky, better known under stage name Pauk (Russian for "spider"). Black Obelisk (russian: Чёрный Обелиск, ''Chorny Obelisk'') is a Russian heavy metal band founded in 1986 by bassist Anatoly Krupnov, who died in 1997. Different works and eras of band wavered their style between hard rock and thrash metal. History The original lineup consisted of Anatoly Krupnov (bass, vocals), Yuri Anisimov (guitar) Mikhail Svetlov (guitar), and Nikolay Agafoshkin (drums). Zvuki Mu (russian: Зву́ки Му , roughly translated as "Sounds of Moo") was a Russian alternative rock/ indie/post-punk band founded in Moscow in 1983. Lead singer and songwriter Pyotr Mamonov was one of the most revered and eccentric figures of the Russian art scene, whose absurdist lyrics are as playful and disturbing as his vocal style and explosive on-stage presence.
