Mosaic (church)
Mosaic is a multi-site Christian megachurch based in Los Angeles, California, and is currently led by Erwin McManus. The church had been affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, but today, it describes itself as non-denominational. History On January 3, 1943, thirty-five charter members of Bethel Baptist Church began meeting in a rented storefront at Brady Avenue, Los Angeles, California. Members brought their own chairs to the first service. By 1958, two more "missions" or services were established in Baldwin Park, California, Baldwin Park and Monterey Park, California, Monterey Park. In 1969, at the age of 24, Thomas A. Wolf ("Brother Tom") became the senior pastor of the then-named First Southern Baptist Convention, Southern Baptist Church of East Los Angeles. Non-denominational
A non-denominational person or organization is one that does not follow (or is not restricted to) any particular or specific religious denomination. The term has been used in the context of various faiths, including Jainism, Baháʼí Faith, Zoroastrianism, Unitarian Universalism, Neo-Paganism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Wicca. It stands in contrast with a religious denomination. Religious people of a non-denominational persuasion tend to be more open-minded in their views on various religious matters and rulings. Some converts towards non-denominational strains of thought have been influenced by disputes over traditional teachings in the previous institutions they attended. ''CCM Magazine'' is an online magazine focusing on contemporary Christian music and media, published by Logan and Amanda Sekulow. History ''CCM'' was first published in July 1978, as a printed magazine. It has been owned by Salem since 1999. On January 16, 2008, Salem announced that the April 2008 issue would be the final printed issue of the magazine, which would continue in an online-only format. When the magazine was first published, it was called ''Contemporary Christian Music'' and covered that music genre. An extended play (EP) is a musical recording that contains more tracks than a single but fewer than an album. Mosaic MSC is a contemporary worship music band from Mosaic Church in Los Angeles, California. The band is led by Worship Pastor Mariah McManus. The band have released three live albums and three extended plays. History Mosaic MSC recorded its first worship album, ''MSC (Live from LA)'' on May 24, 2014 at the historic Wiltern Theater. After it was released in 2015, it peaked at number 21 on the Christian Albums chart. Mosaic MSC has several charting singles. Rialto Theatre (South Pasadena, California)
The Rialto Theatre is a 1,200-seat theater in South Pasadena, California. Located on Fair Oaks Avenue, it is considered one of the last single-screen theaters in Southern California and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. History The Rialto was designed in 1925 by Lewis Arthur Smith, who designed the Vista Theatre (Los Angeles, California), Vista Theater. The Rialto's architectural style was described in ''The Los Angeles Times'' as "an odd mashup of Spanish Baroque and Egyptian kitsch." The theater has an orchestra pit and its original design featured balcony seating along both sides of a deep stage.
